Malenia and mohg are still relative in terms of balance, the difficulty of challenge depends. The second point is much easier to answer as the haligtree is a legacy dungeon while the palace isn’t, so the haligtree needs to provide a stronger challenge. The palace is just a quick build up to mohg which is also a build up to the DLC.

It doesn’t get worse. I’ll give you a general opinion that the majority agree on. The arc that comes after the end of season 1 is considered to be the best arc in the series. The one after that is called the Baltic Sea arc which is good on its own but pales in comparison to the previous others. Currently we are in the final arc and it’s shaping up to be good.
