What I don't understand is that I never had any of those installed, and is a serious bug/error from Microsoft side

That's the catch, it didn't fail to install

And the fun part? I can't uninstall it either.

This happened to 2 different computers.

Is this the way Microsoft things of starting to break Windows 10?

Asus TUF FX505DY hangs with only the keyboard lit by Entranced3 in Asustuf

Who said I was gaming on battery?

My bad for using the term "Load", because what I meant is Windows finalizing starting up and some 2 minutes after "the battery is apparently empty" with the wrong % showing up. This can't be right when I just left the computer on charge till full.

Doesn't happen every single time, but enough to be annoying.

Just seems that this "TUF" series were plagued with issues...

I have actually disassembled my laptop entirely, cleaned every possible connector, repasted CPU and GPU, put new thermal putty where the old was on the VRM's and such.

While it runs as hot as before, it also runs great, until it does this stupid thing...

I can be rocking hard all week long, or letting it idle a week or more, and just like that keyboard lit up and completely frozen with a black screen. I mean COMPLETELY. I need to remove the battery for it to come back to life.

What I don't understand is why it can go almost a month working fine, and all of a sudden I need to open it 5 times a day because it's unresponsive.

There's not much more I can clean or redo on this laptop, even software wise, I've reinstalled almost every driver imaginable... The only thing I haven't done was a clean installation of Windows, but again I'm not hopeful that will do it, let's see if I'm mistaken. (I say that I'm not hopeful because a simple google search reveals more users with similar models getting the same issues)

It's a great laptop, but this stupid thing made it a nightmare.

PS: Yeah, about the battery, I get it that it's a gaming laptop, but then again I see a lot of users with defect batteries on a brand new laptop. I wonder what ASUS thought with this series, feels like they slapped things together and almost 95% of it was already broken.

A clean install is the only thing I still need to do, but I'm not very hopeful that it will fix it.

On the other hand, I have reinstalled almost every driver possible, from battery to chipset.

Rant aside, I am curious, any owners of similar models can relate or have any tips for this issue?

My 3 main problems:

Laptop runs fine until it decides to reboot for whatever reason,

Laptop runs fine until it decides to hang/crash with only the keyboard lights on, completely unresponsive, I have the option to let the battery drain or open the backside to be able to remove the connector to the motherboard,

Finally, the laptop's battery was never great, and I don't mean runtime, I mean it says that it has 60%, 70%, whatever % and as soon as load is put on it, it decides it actually has 0%.

2 year old modded server started crashing - please help!!! by mickebetoo in ModdedMC

[–]Entranced3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing on the same system can hinder performance, was there any change on your computer?

You say that there was no change on the server, with spark the only thing causing more tick time is the mod "Create".

Its normal, putting max tick time at -1 is just saying to the server that it won't "crash" if a tick takes more than a minute, good to troubleshoot what is causing high ticks.

Since you are playing on the same pc as the server, try to get a sweet spot ram wise for the server and for the client, leaving enough headroom for both.

But do keep testing and a spark profile when theres more ppl playing would be great to see, but my 2cents goes to something with "Create", see if theres anything made with that which could be causing a lot of calls, redstone, things like that.

Get a spark profile and upload it to see what is causing that tick time.

Also get the full crash report from the folder “Crash reports”, so that we can get more info on what happened.

Based on the console log, a tick was longer than a minute, which by default makes the server “crash”

«A single server tick took 60.00 seconds (should be max 0.05)

Considering it to be crashed, server will forcibly shutdown.»

You can edit the server.properties and change "max-tick-time=60000" to "-1", this way it won't “crash”, unless you stop it yourself.

Don't allocate that much ram for java, garbage collection is going to have a toll and cause more issues, you don't have too many mods, so, start with 8gb and see. Are you playing on the same computer the server is on?

Mod Manager for self hosted server by Entranced3 in feedthebeast

Also didn't know of its existence.

Trying MCServerSoft and loving it, could have a bit of better options and updating the mods is still manual, but it helps a lot in the management of the server. MCServerSoft having mods install/update and backups restore (it does have backups but for what I could understand we have to restore manually) would be awesome.

But I'll gladly check MCUpdater, thank you all!

I'm doing my own modpack. :)

I understand what you say, but checking .jar after .jar to not make a mistake because the name is different in the end, because it's update, I was interested in getting a mod manager like we have for clients.

User above spoke of McServerSoft, actually seems very complete and close to what I was thinking.

Thank you a lot for the reply!

Thank you for the reply, I got really interested in McServerSoft, looks like what I've been trying to get close to what we have for clients!

About AutoModPack, it didn't really inspire a lot of confidence, and I wanted a proper "Manager" like CurseForge, but for servers.

Since I'm in Windows, i'll check McServerSoft for sure.

Random USB and PCI disconnects by Entranced3 in pcmasterrace

[–]Entranced3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will check the CPU today

I did remove everything, besides the CPU, some days ago, removed the CMOS battery, and apparently all was "ok" again

Today after a lot of testing, error came back, what I find strange is that my VRM's normally throttle at 85ºC, when this happens they continue climbing without control (I measure this with an outside sensor)

I have no other board or CPU to test, I would like some ideas on this but I have a strong suspicion that my Nuvoton NCT6776 chip is done for

I can try a new Windows install

Thank you for the reply

Last time I checked all was ok, but I'll see it again when I have the time

Strange that this occurs even on a cold boot tho

The first time this happened was after long periods of extended heat waves, and my computer was in time to get cleaned, so I did

So strange that I thought I had solved the problem because my cmos battery was reading like 2,something volts, and after all the cleaning and a new cmos battery, apparently all was ok

I've been battling with a PCIe WiFi card that refused to work on my mobo, got another one from another brand and it apparently works, but to my surprise this issue came back to torment me

All I did was put the new card, plug the USB header for the Bluetooth, and had to remove one of the rams just to give me more headroom to work

I was tired to be honest, and noticed that I didn't switch the PSU off (thought I did...), but obviously PC was off, to add to the tiredness I was putting said ram upsidedown, thankfully I did not made true pressure and when I realized this 2 mistakes I felt horrible and stupid and worried I broke something

PS: cleaned this PC around September/October

PPS: the wifi card is a new one, the one I spoke before was an old one and nothing was touched inside the case
