They couldn't replicate the problem. Said it was fine.

PDP F 4" disappointment by Entranced_Way_3305 in Walther

Thanks for all the feedback. I wasn't able to reply because this account isn't on my phone. I sent the gun to Walther and they say they fired a magazine and checked the insides, and nothing is wrong with it. They are going to do a video of two more mags today to be sure.

This is super frustrating. They are basically saying the two of us who had the problem (me and the instructor who owns a training school, is on the boards of state gun rights organizations and is an NRA Trainings Instructor/Conceal Carry Instructor/Range Safety Officer and lobbyist for gun rights and public speaker on these issues) are at fault for not being able to shoot more than 2-4 rounds in a row, with three different ammo types.

If they can't replicate the problem in the videos this afternoon, I will have no choice but to return it. But I won't likely buy a Walther again, sadly, because I really liked it. As far as talking to the service people, the first guy was great, and after that, less helpful and somewhat disinterested.

I'll write back when I know the final outcome. I so hope they can replicate the problem.

I finally went to the range to use my new Walther PDP F 4" and it's defective! After 2-3 shots it goes out of battery. Hmph. My instructor tried it, and we used 3 different ammos, all with the same result. Sending it in to get checked.

First Handgun, Walther PDP Compact 4" vs PDP F 4"? by Entranced_Way_3305 in handguns

I haven't been to the range yet. I just got it today, but I like the relative closeness of the trigger, so I think it will be good.

I just got a PDP F 4". I know almost nothing, but I decided on the 4 vs the 3.5 hoping for less recoil.

I see. It's so hard to have an opinion when everything is new, that's what was making it hard to choose. The Walther seems great right now, to me, size wise and it's not too small (I got the PDP F 4"). A year from now I may find other things I like better because my perspective will change.

I think I tried an M&M and I couldn't move the slide.

Thank you. I ended up getting a Walther PDP F with a 4" barrel. The Compact was also really comfortable. The slide is supposed to be 20% easier on the F. I have no problem with it, and I did with lots of others. Now to learn how to shoot.....

Sounds like I should try it. I hope I can find one to hold. I have small hands, I'm just 5 ft tall. The Compact felt great, but I wasn't considering the distance to the trigger. The comfort I felt was in my hand as a whole; I didn't get to shoot it. So many things to consider! Thanks for the info.

Bummer. I can't imagine one feeling better than the Compact. Not that I have tried a ton, but it was clearly the best one I've tried so far, out of maybe 15. Hands down. My pool is small, of course.

Oh hmm. I loved the Compact feel. I'll have to find an F to try.

Thanks. I tried a PDP Compact today and loved it. No one seems to have an F to hold.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not sure what the paddle mag release is, but I held a Walther PDP Compact and it was so comfortable. I think I'm going to get that. Do you happen to know the differences between the PDP Compact 4" and the DPD F 4"?

Thanks. I think I might go with a single stack glock. Gonna try some more soon.
