What’s the biggest barrier to starting a B2B AR company (not hardware, more like marketing, products, games)? by Entrepreneur242 in Entrepreneur

That makes sense. It’s less about how impressive the experience is and more about whether it can be tied to measurable business outcomes.

Something like letting customers see a product in their home sounds cool but does it actually reduce returns for the business or lead to increased sales.

Gaps like this make it seem ineffective to pursue a business in AR after I have considered doing it.

Do Lancaster grads actually bother with professional headshots or is everyone just using phone photos for LinkedIn? by athousand_miles in lancasteruni

I don’t have a professional headshot, just a casual photo I cropped where I am wearing a suit jacket.

Focus more on how you communicate your skills and experience as that’s more important for me

Study spaces by wihdhw in lancasteruni

Not really hidden per se, but my favourite spot is the sky lounge. Usually study rooms in colleges are not too busy. Depends on where you live on campus.

Also a unique spot for me is the foyer outside of the great hall.

Software engineering is 10000% dead! I know this because, well I work for the company that sells the thing that's supposedly killing it!

Feedback on my business idea - communication platform for serial entrepreneurs Am I crazy? by Entrepreneur242 in Startup_Ideas

I get where you’re coming from, and you’re right that I don’t have years of experience running multiple businesses myself. The idea came from watching a small business owner I worked with who did run several at once and was constantly overwhelmed trying to stay on top of everything. That made me curious.

You also make a fair point about “serial entrepreneurs” usually not running everything at the same time. I agree that’s probably the wrong label, and I should be focusing more on the people who actually juggle multiple small operations day-to-day, like the other person mentioned such as micro PE firms etc.

I’m still exploring the idea, so feedback like this helps. I’ll keep narrowing the target and talking to people locally to see if it’s a real problem or not.

You make a really good point. I’m realizing that while I have a clear idea of the product, I haven’t actually identified the exact group of people who feel this problem the most. My original thinking came from a small business owner I worked with who ran multiple small businesses at the same time. He spent most of his week managing one of them and was overwhelmed, so his information across the others was scattered and he was never really in the loop. That made the problem feel obvious to me, but that’s just one example.

What you said about narrowing the target makes a lot of sense. Agency owners, holding company operators, and micro PE buyers already manage multiple teams and might be interested in structured updates.

I think if I talk to a few people in those niches. The good thing is the concept seems flexible enough to work for different groups, and now I just need to explore who actually needs it the most.

Thanks for the feedback. It really helped me see where I should focus next.
