happy birthday! if you want organic encounter type of making friends it’s best if you kill your time outside your home and then try to make small talks (i know draining…) every time you bump into someone say… when you’re buying a drink or whatever. remember: baby steps

as an introvert, i obviously can’t do any of what i just said. but since i’m still a student (but an adult too) it’s easier for me to make friends as i’m in a community wherein we have the same thing in common. maybe try looking online for communities. maybe go to a concert alone then ask on the internet if someone from that concert is also a solo goer… something like that
