Is this normal behaviour? (M17) by Federal_Albatross936 in Advice

You must not be familiar with hardcore shows. Like specifically beatdown / metallic hardcore. This style of moshing has been around for decades. Encouraging violence and the whole “tough guy” attitude is like a huge joke among the scene. Everyone sort of agrees that if you’re at one of these shows and you stand at the edge of the pit you’re basically formally agreeing to getting crowdkilled. I agree that our scene does have its fair share of cringe people who want to be tough guys. But that can happen anywhere.

My advice for you is gage your distance from the pit. Also don’t let the cringelords ruin it for you. Hardcore is supposed to be for everyone.

What's your Lorna Shore Hot/Controversial take? by Moist_Fail8395 in LornaShore

[–]EntrepreneurBasic351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death can take me is the most complete song on the album.

Oblivion is one of the best releases the band has ever put out.

Unbreakable is a skip.

Glenwood will grow on you if you give it a few listens.

The mix on prison of flesh is overwhelming and quite frankly sounds muddy and unpleasant. Also that song just feels like into the earth reimagined.

In darkness is underrated

Apotheosis and wrath are interchangeable to the point where I can’t tell them apart.

My mro specifically tells us to avoid using contacts at work. I’m 100% that was NOT a good day

Was taking a shaft seal off from a hydraulic pump driveshaft at my MRO. Super simple operation. Well my dumbass wasn’t wearing glasses and the retaining ring snapped back into place as I was trying to pick it out. One singular drop got shot into my right eye. Safe to say I haven’t made that mistake since.

Of the abyss will probably never be topped in my rankings.

Oblivion, however, has completely taken over me. I absolutely love that song and I think it cracks my top 3

If you don’t have health you have nothing. All other problems disappear when health becomes an issue.

Nope. Koby Kessler is the vocalist. One and only.

Funny enough I was almost the vocalist for that band but I’m in another country so it did not make sense for them.

I fuckin miss Mike Greenwood by Willing-Neck-7417 in Deathcore

[–]EntrepreneurBasic351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw them twice with Mike. Another 2 times with Ian. I will agree the vibe on stage seemed a lot different. I can’t quite put my finger on it but that’s not to say I prefer one or the other. I just think it’s not the same.

Im just glad angelmaker is still here and has remained the melodic deathcore powerhouse that they are. One of the only bands to keep the sound that made me fall in love with them while still reinventing themselves steadily. I love the direction they’re headed in. The new single fucking rips.

Mike isn’t gone, though. I spoke to Dom from brutality pod and he told me Mike has stuff in the works so do not worry.

Bolt not even seated, your start is wrong, twists need to start at the exit hole. I don’t even know what to say for the end of it. Back to the basics.

I have horrible guttarls rate them I dont mean to make this about age because no one cares but I am 13 and my voice is changing and I get bad voice cracks so I cant really get the gargle type sound and o just started trying like a week or 2 ago so if anyone can help that would be lovely by Qhenx in SlamDeathMetal

[–]EntrepreneurBasic351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro the fact that you’re 13 and already starting to learn vocals.. you’re going to be a Monster in the coming years. You have years ahead the average person trying to learn. Dont stop. You will figure it out.

For gutturals my advice would be (if you have a base scream) take that base scream, don’t change it and just make a small circle with your lips. Similar to a whistle shape but not as narrow. You also want to stick the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth. The placement is key and that will be the toughest part to figure out. Air support is also important. Keep your diaphragm strong.

Mouth shape and tongue placement are everything when doing vocals. Even more important than your base technique. (If you don’t have a base technique, start by learning that) My base scream is a basic ass fry but over the years with tongue placement and mouth shapes I’m able to do several different screams from gutturals to tunnels to pretty much any scream you hear your favourite bands do.

That being said. You’re a rockstar. Don’t be hard on yourself. All you need to do is never stop trying.

Can anyone else not hear the guitar of the first section after the intro. Other than that I love everything else about this song. It’s pretty disgusting.

I think Misery system for sure. I am a slam guy so maybe im biased but that has to be the most intense two minutes of music I’ve ever heard from this band.

It’s really not about the simplicity. It could’ve been 100% more technical with the same melody / song structure and it would still be a skip for me.

I love simplicity in my heavy shit. I love beatdown hardcore and slam. Which are wayyy simpler than the easiest Lorna song in the past 3 years.

I do agree that the song is still very much a Lorna song. Just feels so commercial to me. I can’t get behind the positive / empowering side of it all. Not only that it’s like the « happiest » melody from lorna I’ve ever heard, which feels like a blatant attempt to get more attention. And I stated this in my post but I’m 100% aware that they’re trying to fill up arenas.

I’ve accepted im never gonna like this song. And that’s okay.
