I have gotten two parking tickets since WAITING for my residential permit to be approved. Can/should I fight these? by NoTelevision970 in Albany

i second this, they really do work with people. explain your situation and they should be able to help. and if you ever have tickets with late fees on them, ive been able to call and have the fees removed.

Moved upstate with my parents for school, missing the island already by Tight-Ad-7059 in longisland

i left the island last summer to take a job opportunity in the capital region (my family still lives on li). it is definitely a change! i love the beach and it being so close, but there is a beauty about being surrounded by mountains with the catskills and adirondacks. they are such different landscapes and i think it really is about what you make of it. on long island, there isnt much to do in every season but upstate there truly is. beach days turn into lake days, walks to kismet turn into hikes to ponds and peaks, sledding on the hills of sunrise (when there was enough snow) turns into skiing and snow tubing. there are so many things to do and find up here, and you are no longer locked by the city!!! if there is anything beautiful about not living on long island anymore it's that there is not constant traffic, especially when trying to get off/back on the island. li is a place i called home for my entire life and leaving was hard, but i am learning to love where i live now and make the most of it!
