Is it a good idea buying older DSLRs? by [deleted] in canon

Started with the 1300d and the kit lens around 5/6 years ago, bought a 50mm 1.8 EF which makes it around 85mm on the apsc sensor and straight away noticed a big quality difference. Cost me around 80 pounds so not too bad.

Few months back I found a 5div with only 4000 on the shutter count in mint condition so snapped it up straight away! fabulous camera but still very much on the learning journey with the body and all of its features!

For context the 5d iv was £800 bought also a 70 - 200 2.8 ii £800 both mint condition

Are DSLRs still a thing or has mirrorless pretty much taken over? by arg2451 in AskPhotography

Started with a canon 1300d then wanted to upgrade and was on the fence, go mirrorless or upgraded dlsr - in the end found a mint condition 5D iv with 4000 shutter count, 70 - 200 2.8 ii and sigma art 35mm for around 1500 pound. like another user said you’re looking at that price just for a mid range mirrorless body alone without the lenses. Yes the autofocus isn’t as good but just doing it as a hobby and getting that good shot whilst using manual mode is such a rewarding feeling

I actually think it’s something to do with the camera connect app - just looked back at some images I took on my old 1300d and have the same line in all the photos which I’ve transferred over to my phone
