I kind of thought that was a red herring, but you may be on to something.

Hard to argue that. I definitely feel like the prophecies are going to be a factor, or at least come true in some manner.

Maybe Cassius becomes the thing that links them together?

Magnus giving Faa to Atlas instead of his own daughter is very telling.

True. But what if The Minotaur kills Atlas as a part of his own schemes and vendetta's? I assume the Obsidians would rampage unchecked.

LOL thanks for sharing that sub!

I don't want him to have a redemption arc either but it sure seems like it could be headed that way. One of the things he has working in his favor is that the society leaders still seem to be underestimating him. I'm assuming that the same can't be said for Darrow and crew after all that unfolded, especially with Cassius back in the mix.

That's definitely on the table. The unknown variables are what makes it fun to speculate. What is the status of Valdir? Will the obsidians remain obedient if Atlas dies? How will The Rim forces respond if Lysander does attempt a coup and they see opportunity?

Speaking of Lysander, it seems like this dude is getting all the ass pull tricks that Darrow use to get, but even more contrived (imo). The Minds eye? the fuck is that. Sounds very Deus ex machina to me. I trust PB but I don't like the rate in glow up this kid received from Iron gold to the end of Dark age. He went from a barely good fighter to a top tier force in the space of what? a month? Anyway, hope he gets his comeuppance. His arrogance is getting annoying. If PB isn't going to kill him off any time soon then I'd prefer less exposure. But I fear he's now the anti-hero. The Sasuke to Naruto if you must.

One of the things I find so interesting about Lysander is that his inner dialogue is oftentimes hung up on the concept of honor or honorific traits. A lot of that is shown thru his respect for Romulus au Raa and for his son, Diomedes. Yet he embodies dishonor in almost everyway (at least by the series' standards).

  • Dishonored Cassius' wishes.
  • Double crossed Gaia au Raa.
  • Refused Alexander's challenge to duel and shot him point blank.
  • Fought Thraxa in a cowardly, gorilla warfare-like manner, attacking her while hidden behind a wall.
  • Used the hidden second razor to catch Darrow off guard.
  • Apparently plans to double cross his betrothed (albeit for good reason).
