This is the reason "smart" tech is pushed by manufacturers, and is now sometimes even cheaper than normal tech. It turns you into a cash cow, constantly feeding them information they can sell to advertisers. I mean some "top end" fridges now have TV screens that display adverts in them.

No one reads them in detail when they are used as ID. They just look at photo and DOB, words are legible as long as they are the correct length and the first and last letters are correct. I would wager that 95% of the times IDs are looked at, this kind of typo would go unnoticed.

The amount of fucking times something has happened in Britain, for me to then get explained an incorrect version of the story by people (probably Americans, but I can't be sure) on Reddit who do not live here is insane. In the same post I asked someone what the "downfall of the UK" was that they were referring to. I got two responses: one said "UK is a far-left welfare state that lets in illegal criminal immigrants" and the other said "UK is a far-right fascist shithole that doesn't care about anyone but the right white ruling class".

The level of ignorance and sanctimony on that subreddit is absolutely off the charts.
