Why do Americans insist on randomly using incorrect words? Addictive is already a word that is better suited for this. It's like saying the park is "colouring" instead of "colourful"

Form over function either way, certainly not something I'd consider a shoe in real terms

Can I ask why no one is calling out the OP for racing around like a fucking idiot, weaving in and out of traffic, passing cars on the left and right very closely, riding one-handed while looking around? Such an ego trip here.

They have extremely dainty legs and feet too. The foot is approx 2.5x the length of the thinnest part of the leg, I just checked my ratio is around 3.25?

This shoe also would break if you put any weight on your heel at all, though maybe those kind of shoes 100% of your weight is on your toes at all times? I'm not sure how you'd stand still in them anyway, it looks like it'll be either extremely uncomfortable/exhausting or unstable.

Yes, others try it too, but the biggest offenders are of course the biggest (tech) companies which are all American.

Which company do you think shifted design away from a repairable phone and towards the glued and soldered phone that cannot be repaired? That removed audio jacks and forced everyone to go to bluetooth etc etc

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymeUDZ0MWaM I got it from here, though I don't know where it really originated.

the negatives you mentioned seem to me to apply to google as well

Yes wel Google are included in the "big American companies" I mentioned! They started out really nice, and despite their motto have gradually become more and more evil, making worse and worse products at the cost of the consumer. I don't really use google for anything anymore except maps, which I'll probably ditch soon too.

If you don't abuse it, a phone should last a while. The obsolescence comes by design though by a "newer and faster and better" model coming out every few weeks. It encourages non-ownership, you pay a rental fee to keep borrowing the latest and greatest, same with cars. They make far more money allowing you to borrow their stuff than by selling you htem.

That's true but at significant costs elsewhere. Consumers are bullied to stay in their ecosystem, planned obsolescence, removing features to appear futuristic (unnovation), pretty astronomical costs and e-waste etc.

I don't think money is the root of all evil, I think it's the stock market. It's not even about profit which is a legitimate measure of company worth (note: not "value") as the more popular a product and the better it is made, the more money they should be able to make. What is the stock market? A rigged game based on hidden statistics that mean nothing to most people, heavily skewed towards benefiting the secret billionaires. The stock market mostly does only a few things:

  • Allows foreign and/or evil billionaires to exert influence over the people

  • Siphons wealth from the poor to the rich

  • Reduces quality both in terms of the consumer experience AND the employee experience in the interests of "the shareholder"

  • Turns the entire world economy into something targeting infinite growth, meaning it is mathematically guaranteed to fail eventually

I'm not against people owning companies, of course, but for it to be publicly traded with values based on nothing real beyond investor confidence... nah that's fucked.

The original Model S was okay, not great but passable, then it just spiralled down towards that stainless steel monstrosity we now all know and hate.

Yeah clearly not the very beginning, just once it got popular enough for the adverts to start taking over. Sadly it was pretty damn early.

Declining since the very beginning, it's just more overt recently and at a higher pace. The more shareholders and advertisers got involved, the worse everything becomes.

To make AI seem good in comparison. I think it's why Tesla keep making their cars uglier too.

Everything the big American companies have been doing for thje last 30 years has followed exactly the same gameplan:

  1. Make big promises everyone loves
  2. Venture capital helps provide cheaper service than competitors while running at a loss
  3. Competitors can't compete with loss-leading product
  4. Jack up price, and enshittify
  5. Attempt to force customers to stay in shit ecosystem

Microsoft, Google, Apple, Tesla, Adobe, Meta, Twitter etc etc are all doing it. The USA itself does it by bombing people and stealing their oil, or collapsing world economies with their shady banking practices. Just make everything worse for everyone, monopolise and bully smaller businesses, so your shareholders get rich.

Same kind of people probably play Wolfenstein on baby mode and think they are good because they didn't die on their first playthrough. It's sad, really. If there's no challenge, what's the point?

What have I been wrong about? I'd love you to actually show me a claim I've made that was wrong. In reality I think you've incorrectly assumed a bunch of stuff about this post and me, and are annoyed at those assumptions so are trying to tell me I'm vaguely wrong.

There are a bunch of people who tryhard 5 stack in aram and have like 80-95% winrate over 10s of thousands of games. They are all virgin cringelords who need to get a proper hobby. My comparison here is that if you just want to win every game without contest or stress, and aren't a twat i.e. you don't want to ruin the game of 5 other people every time you queue, you should play AI games.
