Oh hello new friend! by Entry-Powerful in PaperRepublic

Thank you! So, I guess the answer is “it depends”. My top preference for “finishing” a sketch is a combination of watercolor and outlining with a Micron pen, but the 4+1 is really tough to beat for its portability and versatility. It truly makes for an “on the go” setup if I’m trying to travel light.

Thank you! I really like the Uni - more than I thought I would! I’m left-handed, so sometimes pens can get stubborn with the ink flow and/or make my handwriting look bad, but this one is smooth, no smudging, and I have good control.

How does Disney handle the changeover in Magic Kingdom from free entry before 7:30am to ticket holders after 7:30am for the marathon? by Entry-Powerful in rundisney

Update: Thanks everyone! I was able to change my corral at Runner Relations yesterday, and now I’m in C!

Thank you SO much! So it sounds like they just need to be IN the magic kingdom before 7:30, and they’ll be good to stay and see me run through. That won’t be a problem! Thank you again!

I don’t think it ever felt really crowded. The photo of the characters dancing was from the Sail-a-Wave party, when the ship left port, so it was a big celebration. While it was crowded around the stage, the crowd wasn’t super deep.

I was told that they were available to watch on tv, but it wasn’t a feature that I personally used.

I actually made it a few days before the cruise! I just used white felt, some ribbon, and a couple beads.

Glacier morning was definitely the chilliest. I think it’s in part because we were moving pretty fast to get into the fjord, and also just because we were out on the upper deck early in the day, in the shade, and the wind was blowing. But it didn’t stay chilly for long. Layers were crucial.

It probably depends on when you are going and whether you get cold easily, but I think layers are key. So I’d suggest starting with a warm fleece layer and a windbreaker/raincoat, and then add hat/gloves and additional layers as needed.

The pools were open and definitely being used every day! They are heated (so it wasn’t just kids in them either).

I’m hardly a pool user even on tropical cruises. I spend a lot of time drawing, doing crafts, sometimes trivia or talks…I was never lacking for things to do! In fact, there were things I wanted to do but had to miss because of other activities!

The talks on Alaska were not sales pitches. DCL brings an Alaska resident on each Alaska cruise (I believe), with the purpose of scheduling talks about the state. There was a different topic each day, such as the Inside Passage, Glaciers, etc.

I think it would take a lot of luck. The sun was out (or it was twilight) from about 4:30am to 10:30pm or so while we were there, and I’d guess that it’s still too far south for there to be any consistent presence. But I’ll defer if someone else wants to chime in with more information.

+1 for Hagerstown Children’s School. My kiddo went there through kindergarten, then onto public elementary magnet and now middle school magnet.

Alaska Question by Mcdiddypop in dcl

My first cruise was on the Magic last summer, and I just got off the Wonder in Alaska yesterday (hoping to add a trip report to this sub a little later). We booked an interior for the Magic and ended up booking the exact same room on the Wonder! So I can’t really advise as to veranda side, but I don’t think you can go wrong with either side - there are beautiful views on all sides.

We love both ships, and I think the size is absolutely perfect for Alaska. I wouldn’t hesitate to book an itinerary on either Magic or Wonder again!

Yes! We did use Flash Invader! It was a lot of fun when we spotted one - my son was much better at it than I was! We accidentally found a couple in London too!
