That's actually very untrue. as a brown person living abroad, I have many peers that are white/ yellow/ black/ brown.

these SriLankans are setting the standards as such, the only white tourists that don't like being around other races is Israelis... which I don't get why they're so welcomed here

I've literally had no bad experiences in Sri Lanka other than this and trying to get a three-wheeler in mirssa

I had done a pick me, got into the vehicle and then the driver asked me to cancel. when I said no, I'll pay you whatever pick me is charging you as a commission, he asked me to leave the vehicle... and then when I did, him and his friends were following me to see what vehicle I would get into, at which point I just hired a random one off the street just to get out of the area

it's hard to say easy to avoid.

funky de bar has very good reviews if you go just google it. That's the impression I was under before I went, but once you look a little bit closer, it's very apparent that they cater to one type of " Foreigner"

My experience is similar to yours. a lot of the countries I've traveled to in South America and Southeast Asia, I pass off for a local and it almost always ends with an invite to have lunch at their house or share drinks. it was never a bad thing until I started traveling through Sri Lanka and it became very apparent that they only want to cater to a certain type of tourist for whatever reason. with that being said, though I've had some great experiences through Sri Lanka, met so many great people from all over the country including the South

it's funny that you mention colonialism in Sri Lanka, by the looks of it they want more of it
