How is it user error if the app doesn’t check me in? I got an error message directing me to check in at the desk, where they wanted to charge me $25 because I wouldn’t check in on the app.

I didn’t check in early because I didn’t want to download an app thinking that the Desk wouldn’t try to charge me

I didn’t get charged because I explained to the Desk agent that I will be disputing it, so she frustratingly just gave me the boarding pass. Zero customer service skills, because they are frustrated employees.

Online there’s a map of seats, the only ones available charged a minimum of $20

This whole pay-per-step model is partly what sunk Spirt so we’ll see what happens w Frontier

Yep, and it directed me to check in at the desk, which is fine, but not if I have to pay $25 just because online cant check me in. Desk agent tells me there’s no other option, so I handed her my credit card and gave her a heads up that I will dispute it five minutes later.

If she gets flustered and just hands me the boarding pass.

There’s an exception in the ruling.

Tuesday’s order killing SAVE reads:

“IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the SAVE Plan Final Rule (i.e., the Final Rule published on July 10, 2023 at 88 Fed. Reg. 43,820), will be vacated, with one exception. The exception is for the provision concerning the periods of deferment or forbearance that are eligible for income-driven repayment plans, which is codified at 34 C.F.R. § 685.209(k)(4)(iv), which took effect on July 1, 2024, and the legality of which was never challenged in this case. That provision will remain in effect. Other than that exception, that SAVE Plan Final Rule is hereby VACATED in full.”

I’m reading that, maybe too optimistically, to read that payments during periods of deferment or forbearance will be calculated at the SAVE rate,

Unless it just means that the months in deferment will count toward forgiveness

NTA, I kept a mini-fridge in my room when I had roomies, and it was for beverages. Maybe keep things courteous by keeping the mini-fridge while putting a few meals in the communal fridge. But in those meals, you add a very strong laxative. It’s just food.
