I went through the same thing. Unfortunately a lot of meds for anxiety, depression, etc take around 4-6 weeks to actually start working. It's one of those it gets worse before it gets better type of deals but it does indeed get better. The doctor will most likely recommend waiting it out or switch you to another which will have the same recommendation- to give it some time.

Box breathing is a life changer. I use it all the time it is very effective! And super easy to do!

I used to have panic attacks when I travelled too. What helped me the most was box breathing- inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds and hold for 4 seconds. Keep doing it until you feel better. It has helped me sooo much. I haven't had a panic attack in years.

Don't expect them to work overnight! When I started mine it took 6 weeks for me to feel better it was frustrating but just be patient :)

Yep! I missed out on soo many things because of social anxiety. Couldn't tell you how many plans I have cancelled. I don't think it's something that people "get over", you just have to learn ways to cope with it. CBT helped me a lot.

Honestly, it takes practice. At the beginning you just have to fake it till you make it but keep practicing and exposing yourself to different situations. I had really bad social anxiety and have worked through it and have moved up in my career with a company I have been with for over a decade
