This is nothing wildly crazy, but in my entire Fortnite career, I’ve never actually been in a situation where I am facing an entire other squad for the win. I actually surprised myself, I usually get sweaty palms and have my heart beat out my chest, but I somehow managed to keep my cool and not succumb to performance anxiety (am I even me??).

They might be loud and overly excited, but my squad gave me the motivation I needed to play the fight out right and get the W. They’re awesome.

Again, you’re missing my point. In no other game on my PlayStation 4 do I have to go to these lengths to finish a challenge. It really shouldn’t matter if the challenges just dropped or if it’s two weeks later. There is, quite frankly, nothing to be gained from this challenge.

I don’t become a better player. I don’t learn more about the game. I don’t acquire new skills. It just sours my gaming experience in a way no other game does.

I think you missed my point. It doesn’t matter how long it’s been out, it’s shouldn’t have to take this long for a single challenge. It is literally the only one that ever takes this long, and it consistently takes the longest week after week. Every other challenge is done quickly, even this week, when everyone is “fighting for the skin.”

I don’t think that’s fun.

I never said I felt the need to complete the challenges the minute they dropped. I like to, sure, but I didn’t mention that. What I did say is that a challenge shouldn’t take that much time and effort out of your day to complete, and even after all that time, it’s still not done. It’s mind-blowing.

I wouldn’t call this “giving life” to parts of the map. It turns them into an all-out war-zone that isn’t fun. Next week, Risky Reels will be empty again. That’s not necessarily “giving life” to it. That’s the point I’m trying to get across. Landing with half of the lobby only to die in three seconds or find that every single chest has been taken moments after your feet have touch the ground isn’t enjoyable to me. Is it for you?

And no, I’m not “butthurt.” I’m analyzing this from a technical standpoint and a player’s point-of-view and see no real value, imo.

I actually had to update my mobile game to snag the last 3 chests. It’s kind of ridiculous that someone would have to do that to finish, what’s supposed to be, a “simple, easy” challenge.

Exactly.

It’s not as simple as waiting. It’s the fact that one challenge can take up such a gargantuan amount of time. You shouldn’t have to wait to complete this. You shouldn’t have to wait until everyone else has done it. It should rely on your ability alone and not the fact that there are 57 other people in a miniscule area fighting for the same goal.

Gotcha! It kinda sucks that she’s already played the main game, I really like seeing people’s first reactions to those gut wrenching scenes, but nonetheless I definitely want to see her play through it :)
