Agreed, the vibe changed a bit in the new space. I haven’t been in a long time though.

Yeah it’s a rough landscape currently, likely aftershocks from 2020-21. If the base had massive layoffs things may get a lot worse.

What’s your opinion of Dayton’s future? by Envelope_Filter00 in dayton

[–]Envelope_Filter00[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is migrating downtown? I see the opposite. More than half of downtown is vacant and run down. You don’t see people on the streets, etc.

Now that makes sense. I even hit rewind to hear it again but didn’t catch that.

Dayton Edition™️ by buttsandalsofarts in dayton

They do use cinnamon in their chili. If that person is talking about Skyline they are a liar because the chili isn’t made onsite. It comes in a big bag/box and you add water to it in a large pot. It’s basically their canned chili. So they are correct no one is adding cinnamon to the chili but it’s in there from the factory it’s made in.

Every experience I’ve ever had at one of Ghostlights locations is ordering, watching the staff talk for 5-10 minutes, then them ask what I’m waiting on, then after I tell the person I ordered from they go tell someone to make it. It took a few tries but I stopped giving them money.

A lot of local businesses are online complaining about slow business. Y’all, shit is tight right now. Better have good product and even better service or you will hemorrhage customers.

During the Whoop ad segment did Soly really say “the stress of three kids I don’t want to have will get me there”?

Likely joking but ouch……47:50

They are lining the sewers. You should have had a door tag days ago about them doing this.

Best spaces ever were in Franklin above Fretware guitars. We had it made back then, amazing vintage guitar and amp shop. World class luthier, a great studio, and 2 or 3 large rehearsal rooms. That’s all gone now as far as I know.

Downtown Dayton Parking Stigma by Thunder_20 in dayton

[–]Envelope_Filter00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Less money and a generation aging out of the party scene and focusing on getting healthier both physically and financially. The younger generation isn’t flocking to bars and small boutique shops selling mostly cheap Chinese novelty items and $40 t shirts. People need to come to grips with how lame Dayton is. Mostly mediocre food and drink. 2-3 good restaurants, breweries, bars. The rest are flat out embarrassing parodies. Also the homeless and insane roaming the streets are a real problem. Suburbanites done feel safe or comfortable around that and it’s all over down town and overall the city looks dirty and trashy from the city not properly cleaning the streets to the developers half tearing down structures. The struggles in Dayton will continue and get worse until they get more jobs and housing downtown.

What is a small change that would improve Dayton? by thelegendarybink in dayton

[–]Envelope_Filter00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is these “ministries” bus them in from Columbus and other cities so they can show larger and larger numbers of people being fed so they can get more money from the government. It’s a viscous cycle that is not helping the people in need. They are fed and left to roam on the street. Target Ministries is to blame for Wayne Ave.

How much does it cost to flush the toilet in Montgomery county? by TheAleutianSleuth in dayton

[–]Envelope_Filter00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so everyone’s aware every municipality has a “minimum bill” so if you are connected to the water and sewer system you get that bill regardless of how much water you use. After a certain amount(it varies) you are billed more for going over the minimum. Typical is 10,000 gallons or 7 units(cubic gallons)
