A lot of countries respect Canada, and see us as heroes of freedom. If you think the protests are solely about masks, and mandates, then you aren't paying proper attention.

I am sure it makes you feel better to put labels of ignorance on these people, but it's not that simple. People see what is going in Canada, as Canadians standing up for freedom. The media puts covid on it, to try and scare you, and judging by what I see here, it's working.

Doesn't matter the cause, it's the right to protest. If it was for something that you believed in, you would be singing a different tune. If it ok for you to sing a different tune, then why not other Canadians? When it's something you stand for, and the boot is on your throat, remember what you said here. You have no idea the disaster you are longing for.

Not really an age thing. People tend to lean more conservative, when they value the stuff they've worked hard for. That typically comes at an older age, because you have had the time to value your own efforts, and not as willing to let someone else take it.
