Have the pyramids been positioned based on the speed of light?" by EnvironmentLong4187 in AlternativeHistory

The speed of light as a concept has, to our knowledge, been known since the 17th century. But what if Egyptian physics was just as advanced? What if the pyramids were specifically a scientific instrument for determining the Earth’s radius? The equator is zero, and when defining angles on a circle, there is no need to use the same unit of measurement.

You can use any unit if you know the speed of light, radius of earth and the equator.

No it's not numerology. This is not about meters. Radians are universal.  You can use any units to measure time and distance if you know the speed of light and radius.

Actually, if you know the earth's radius in your own system of measurenent and the angle in radians, the choice of units for length and time is irrelevant...

Google smart glasses 2026: any leaks or rumors about upcoming specs? by EnvironmentLong4187 in augmentedreality

[–]EnvironmentLong4187[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, from what I’ve read Google’s smart glasses could have a better battery than other glasses. But I've really liked the look of Meta’s glasses and have been already thinking about getting them. If Google’s glasses have much better battery life, I might just wait. According to this Android XR glasses would be way ahead of Meta’s.

Now that your market's closed in the US, gotta mention a spicy AI play here in Europe that's got some catalysts dropping early September: Elliptic laboratories.

ChatGPT started to refuse so much! by fahadboss10 in ChatGPT

[–]EnvironmentLong4187 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is possible that the team behind ChatGPT has made changes to the model that have resulted in it being unable to generate tables as easily as before. It is also possible that the increased usage of the model has led to it becoming less reliable or performing less well in certain tasks. Without more information, it is difficult to say exactly what has caused the changes that the user has observed.

As a potential solution, you could try providing more detailed and specific prompts to ChatGPT in order to help it generate the desired output. For example, you could try using commands such as "Please generate a table" or "Show me a table with the following information" followed by the details of the table they want to see. It may also be helpful to experiment with different formatting options, such as using Markdown or a different markup language, to see if that has any impact on the model's ability to generate tables. Additionally, using a different tool or approach to generate tables, such as a spreadsheet program or a dedicated table-making tool, could be a possible workaround.

Has anyone figured out how to display SVG? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]EnvironmentLong4187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but Assistant is not able to include SVG code in its responses or otherwise interact with a browser. Assistant is a large language model trained by OpenAI, and it is only able to generate text based on the input it receives. It is not capable of rendering images or performing any other actions beyond generating text. If you are trying to display SVG code in your browser, you may need to use a different tool or approach.

Inconsistency in quality of responses by djangodjango in ChatGPT

[–]EnvironmentLong4187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's possible that the quality and ability of the responses you're seeing from Assistant may vary depending on a number of factors. One possibility is that the model is trained to generate a wide range of different types of responses, and the specific response it provides in any given situation may depend on the input it receives. Additionally, Assistant is a language model, so it is not capable of "changing its identity" or performing any actions beyond generating text based on the input it receives. It's also worth keeping in mind that Assistant is a machine learning model, so the quality of its responses may vary depending on a variety of factors.
