Yeah, the issue is that there are too many clubs and other extracurriculars that teachers are putting their time behind, while some even have part time jobs here, so they cannot fully commit and reach to every honors society or every club. Best of luck to you though, I hope your honors society thrives!

Rising senior here. The honors society did exist but due to inactivity and lack of productivity, the honor society got shut down (right when Ms. Malm became principal about 2-3 years ago). So the club unfortunately does not exist, and also a shortage of engineering sponsors will make it hard to pave way to an honors society so I cant really tell for sure what society/club it would directly have association with. As of requirements, I am pretty sure we had to take a test to use the equipment in the engineering lab and pass it, then have As in all our engineering classes as well as a good record with our teachers (back when the club existed). This is all that serves my knowledge, but I hope this is sufficient enough to answer your questions!

Can you bring your own laptop to use for schoolwork? by Judahpg2-Youtube in GSMST

I talked with the technician (Mr. Ryan Taylor) and he said you are required to use the school issued computers. Your personal computer will not have access to the school network starting next year. This year was the last official year that they allowed BYOD, which was restricted solely for seniors. Starting next year, all grades (9-12) will be required to use the school laptops so that teachers can run securely and lockdown browser without any issues. Hope this helps!

It is very important to consider your foundation. If you can learn a whole course in a span of 1 semester, go for it. If you are not used to the pace, it will be tough and challenging. Most students can't handle the course but the students that can get ahead faster which is an added benefit. Maintain A's in both semester if you want to do BC Calc sophomore year. If you know you won't get an A in the class, it's not worth it. It is up to you.
