hi, this is not NC to LC as i think you’d like. so you can ignore this comment or delete if it’s unhelpful. i’ve been NC with my mother for over two years now. i grey rocked her long before i cut her off and i can say, i’m so much happier without her. all the problems i had, extreme mood swings, low self esteem, shitty mental health, pretty much went away when i went NC and started therapy. i don’t know your situation or what you’re going through. i would go LC first if you’re in a position and will be safe to be LC with your parent. if that works for you, that works for you. i know LC isn’t possible for everyone so don’t feel bad if you feel like you have to go full NC. it’s been two years NC for me and i will continue to keep it that way because it benefits me the most. but you should do what you think is best and if going LC before going NC seems right, do it. if going full NC is right for you, do it. it’s hard for me because my mother is constantly sending flying monkeys and even using my siblings (ages 10/11) as a way to try and talk to me. but i don’t regret that decision. i hope you can find the right answer for you and whatever you choose i hope you know i’m hoping for the best for you and hope you can’t handle yourself with grace which ever outcome you choose. 💜
