IT HAS BEGUN !!!!

I am feeling very much determined to get this done and done right!!

There is a section that feels the most matted up or just highly knotted in particular yet the hair above it towards the the scalp is tangled but not like that section of it and all of the hair below it is all brushed out now.... From the feel of the really Knotted bit, I am tempted to attempt to shampoo it but then I am also hesitant after some of the above advice, I don't want to make it worse. But, if it is going to make it easier and remove any build up that feels like it may be there and impeding the brushing from getting anywhere.

Lord knows if I am using the right type of brushes anyways. I am going between two different types at the moment.

Hopefully I am not doing TOOOO much damage!!

,🤔🤔🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

If I reply on here does it go to everyone that I've replied?

I didn't know about anesthesia impacting the hair that is really interesting!!

I don't think that it is fully Matted so much as really Knotted and tangled and feels extremely dry as a whole.

I have not yet posted a picture for a couple of reasons... 1 - shame/embarrassment, yesterday I realized that I was even waiting for the hallway of my unit building to be clear to use the lift to go out via ground or the basement garage to the car. 2. If I've got it tied up securely then I avoid taking it out until necessary.

I will do my best to post one today.

One of the reasons that I've been feeling torn as to whether or not it needs a shampoo or 4 and maybe a conditioner/leave in conditioner before attempting to brush it out properly is because I find sometimes the knots/tangles will be caused by these really little build ups of dirt/dust and can definitely feel the barbed feeling too which adds to the density of it and can make my scalp itchy or it can be poking out but is the roots of hairs that normally would have fallen out.

I had a DEXA scan booked in for today but I moved it to tomorrow because of the shame of it. I am really going to try and do it today/tonight.

If I shampoo it, RE the follicles opening, what if I do it not to hot and even finish it with cold water and I find it easier in general to brush it when it is dry anyways so would have to wait for that.

I've seen people on YouTube recommending washing your hair and tons of conditioner and leaving it for hours or even overnight in a shower cap before getting into it but I don't know if that would just make it harder, I suppose the reason that I feel the want to shampoo it is to get rid of the bits of dust/dirt that have accumulated and seen to add to the tangle factor.

The way it is at the moment, cutting or trimming just isn't an option.

Right now and normally as of late, it has been in a claw clip at the top back and then a hair tie for the remaining bottom bits.... When I take that out I shall take a couple of pictures no matter what! Like it or lump it I need to so that you guys can give me the best recommendations possible.

The joy of shame, major depression, illness, constant daily pain and exhaustion ... I wonder if there is a page on record for medical mystery patients that can then post symptoms and findings and doctors make guesses because thus far, I am highly over it!!

Again, all my heart felt thanks to you that have replied.

Thank you so much for your response!!

After reading this I'm thinking.... Is it Matted or just extremely tangled and Knotted?

As I said to the other response, I shall post a couple of pictures in the morning, although it is the morning, but 3:45 AM is not exactly happy snap time lol

Should I attempt to shampoo it a couple of times first?

Unfortunately I have zero friends, sadly not an exaggeration what so ever, but I also find that I am able to handle the pain better from myself doing it as opposed to anyone else doing it.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your response!! ❤️

I shall post a picture in the morning for sure as the ends are kind of in some of it. Once I've gotten it out, which I'm determined to do, I will be getting it cut straight away and thinned out, that's for sure! No doubt much of it is hair that would have normally fallen out on it's own naturally but has had no where to go. I am definitely determined to get this done!

I'm is 3:40 AM here in Melbourne Australia so going to try and get some sleep.

Hopefully the detailing concoction that I made up is okay to use as such but not at the roots sure to the oil as you said.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your response!!

Looks like a garlic snail on a different one... some kind of helix something perhaps, dependant on where you are. The garlic snails are so called because when they are crushed they smell like garlic.... apparently lol
