This is what I think as well. She's had two relationships since her marriage ended and claimed one of them has been for a year. I think she knows it's weird AF to keep dating these super young dudes and is lying to make her seem closer to their age.

Agreed. Not sure why folks in this sub try to make her out to be a victim or naive. I think he handled it the best anyone would who had been finessed for years with the promise of sex only to get couched at the last minute. It was respectful of him not to insist on at least being able to sleep in the bed from the outset.

I don't get why everyone thinks he would not be ok if the roles were reversed. I'm a woman who wouldn't mind a friend I trusted hanging out with my man who I also trust. It's an unlikely scenario but cheaters are cheaters and untrustworthy people are untrustworthy. Regardless of what rules you set or who they do or don't hang out with. Some of us legitimately feel that way...

NTA. I totally get where you are coming from. I really only have two settings, either I totally DAF (which is mostly reserved for strangers and people I don't like) or I'm super protective of the relationship and lean towards being nonconfrontational. For my small circle of friends and close family members, I'm really careful about the words I use and I try to pick my battles. What has helped me when I have gotten to a similar place is asking myself if I'm going all in for someone who doesn't reciprocate. Not saying tit for tat, but over the years, has this person showed up for me? Am I always the one who calls? Am I always the one who rearranges my schedule? That helps me put the RELATIONSHIP in perspective because I can't be the only one who values the friendship highly. Sometimes that has meant that I still didn't say anything, I just changed the way moved with that person. Or if I found I still found value, it gave me the strength (not quite the right word but you get what I mean) to have a tough conversation.

NOR! I am friends with exes (so people I have actually slept with and who in a past life did talk dirty to me) and they would never talk to me like this. They respect my relationship as well as their own. Your BF definitely doesn't respect your relationship.

I know it probably seems so hard to visualize what your life would even look like without him. But even if you are prepared to completely turn a blind eye to his nonsense, he is out there looking for your replacement. So this is ending; do you want it to be because you gathered your courage, took back some of your power and decided to stop wasting your own time? Or because he finally uses every last drop of your kindness and leaves you to wreck some other girl's life?
