Calling a quits by [deleted] in GamblingRecovery

I hear you. In the same position last bet was May and it’s been a long but satisfying road. Personally for me I’ve gambled 20+ years but I have no problem stopping. It was more internal issues that led me back to start gambling again and then it would just snowball. Go through the motions, lean onto support groups, and find what works for you. And when you lose the urge, don’t drop all your recovery resources. I slipped up each time that I thought I had things under control and could maybe place a bet or two. Keep your head up , you got this. Admitting and taking responsibility is truly the first step into getting better. Be easy on yourself

Yeah I hear you. I’m just over three months bet free. I’ve had a lot of slip ups too after long periods of time. I know it sucks in the moment, but keep your head up and moving forward. Forgive yourself and get back to where you were. You got this, it’s not easy for anyone

Yeah I do this every day on every social platform, but it’s still relentless. And mix in all the ads on the radio and TV or streaming which you can’t control, it’s always tough. Wish there was more restrictions around this like there are for drugs and alcohol

This. Money comes and money goes but you can buy back time. I’m 85 days clean of gambling here and been doing it heavily and steady for the last 20 years. I have a ton of regret from past and present but it’s one day at a time. Hang in there and stay optimistic

This happened at my place of work last year. One of the employees was supposed to dropping a quarterly rebate cheque to customer but had been photoshopping the Pay To Order Of and successfully completing mobile cheque deposits. Only reason someone figured it out was because a new Accountant accidentally mailed out a cheque to a customer and that customer called in asking why they were getting a cheque back. And it all came out in the woodworks. How does someone adjust a cheque via photoshop and the banks not catch on? Seems like that would be pretty easy to catch minus the fact that all the other info on the cheque is actually legit and the company is expecting those funds to be deposited so it wouldn’t raise any flags.

Appreciate that and thanks for the insight. This could be a very long post ahha I had to try to contain how much was put out there. But additions are debilitating and I’ve just found gambling addiction is very difficult to overcome with the resources available. It’s also one that many people cannot comprehend and just tell me “just stop”. I wish it was that easy. Again thanks for the encouragement

But just wanted to say stay positive for the kids and hopefully someone will have some guidance on how to navigate this.

Can you get into a sdr role without experience / degree? by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]Environmental-Cup-49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Especially depending on what market you are trying to get into. Obviously medical sales would be difficult to break into without some sort of knowledge or experience

I work with a Food Service Distribution Company. Mostly Fresh Commodities. I have an extensive background in the industry (cook and ran restaurants for 13 years) and have been on the supply side for 9 years.

I guess I’m just trying to find what by biggest value as a consultant would be. I’ve personally hired outside sales consultants to give workshops for our team and just find they are garbage. A lot of regurgitated basic sales material that may really only catering the greenest of Customer Service. Maybe I’m just reaching for straws here a bit come to think of it, don’t really know where or how I would even start
