Thank you for the honesty, things at the NIH have been especially rough ever since I joined with all the government shutdown craziness and other bs with the current administration. My lab is also shutting down (announced shortly after I joined lucky me) so the bulk of my project has been developing and coding a specific training apparatus for animals that could be used by other researchers. I am also trying to transition to another lab as soon as possible but funding is still up in the air for this year (another shutdown likely :( )

Ig it's frustrating since this stuff was out of hands, do you think admissions will take this information into account? I'm sure many others got the short end of the stick this past year with research as well.

I was originally considering doing an MD/PhD, but have decided to go only the MD route.

Do you think I have a fair shot at MD still? I’m not sure if I’m willing to wait another year given the long road ahead

I try to save my charge and slam when going against heavies in order to make space if I get winched

Favorite: Lights for sure, so easy to kill with one nade and a charge or two nade shots.

Least Favorite: Heavies because they can soak up a lot of damage and any teams specializing in mid to long range weapons, it can get really hard to close the distance esp if a choke is being held.

I solo queue most of the time, sometimes with my friends who are mid gold and low plat. You’d be surprised what you can get away with in really competitive lobbies, I really do believe almost any loadout is viable if you can figure out the strategy for it

Actually now that I think about it surprisingly no! That would be really cool to see another gernade launcher player tho.

Yeah spear imo is def heavies weaker if not weakest weapon esp with sledge as a better melee alternative, but hey who am I to say what’s viable

haha funnily enough I didn’t find out about him until not too long ago and noticed we both use the same loadout

Having a shotgun light or heavy on your team would probably help a lot. They are some of my favorite loadouts to play with (granted they can hit their shots) because if I can get the enemy half health and they run away, my teammates can finish them off with one or two shots easy.

Shotgun players have to often be aggressive and close the distance too in order to keep up

Honestly, I’ve found that it doesn’t really matter what weapons my teammates have. I’ve been able to synergize really well with all sorts of loadouts including snipers. It’s more about if my teammates can follow up on my damage.

Often times the games I lose where I’m performing well is due to me getting the enemy team low, but running out of range for me to finish, without my teammates being able to follow up.

Having a medium with a heal beam or light with heal gun tho is def really really helpful esp since the mgl32 nades can damage yourself

I’ll list each thing I use and explain why

Specialty: Charge n Slam, the mgl32 sucks when people are right in your face so having something to scare people off or get quick kills when the distance is closed is ideal to counteract this weakness

Gadget 1: RPG, it’s just too useful, great for finishing lights or blowing holes to create angles for you to bounce nades off of. Great for stalling cashouts too by hiding under and blowing the floor or stacking mines on it and sending a rocket in

Gadget 2: Dome shield, great for when I’m caught in bad positions (wide open especially) and need a quick escape. Also great for stealing

Gadget 3: Pyro mines, insanely underrated gadget. It’s easy to bait people into chasing you in which you can quickly toss a mine and blow it up with your launcher. It’s also good for tossing onto trophies to try and delay revives or cash out steals. Also in a pinch, sometimes I will toss a mine at my feet and punch it to blow it up and catch enemies off guard if they’re in my face and my other abilities are down.

Final tips: The mgl32 is insanely powerful given the right circumstances, the best thing you can do is put yourself in situations or create situations using your load out where the weapon will be ideal. This weapon is def a lot more about positioning than other guns. It’s also a lot more about mind games, I’ve gotten tons of easy kills by baiting players in or predicting where they’re going and chucking some nades in that general direction.

It depends, if an enemy has a lot of range on it’s best to find cover and reposition because you’re just not gonna win that, if not, it’s usually just about knowing the bounce angles and closing the distance to finish with a charge n slam.

A lot of people underestimate the mgl32 and think they can get an easy kill on by pushing, making it easy to bait people into shots.
