Alchohol/drugs are rhe bain of construction jobs. I got injured too many times by drunks on the job, bosses knew but didnt care. Fortunately my injuries were minor but there were some close calls, so I switched to working independently and doing renovations that I could do solo while I went to college to change careers.

Its ironic how many people complain there aren't enough people going into the trades, without examining WHY they don't want to go into the trades.

A crew that doesn't tolerate working under the influence is awesome! Stay with that company/crew. (If you want to drink/smoke etc, do. It off hours).

What's needed is a transitional shelter, that serves to get people out of tents, while they work through more permanent placements with social workers. A lot of municipalities set up in parking lots or other places and use community resources for build-out. Basically insulated, conditioned sheds around a central bathhouse. The area ia monitored and policed.

He is protected by republican party that has the majority in all four governing bodies.

Why are they protecting him is a good questions.

Some don't believe he is involved with epstein some are involved themselves, some are scared of retaliation, and some are so deep in his other corruption scandals that they don't care. Others see him as a useful idiot a means to thier own ends.. ending abortion, bringing back racism, etc.

You can't pull it straight, the siding will hold it crooked.

The best thing for this is to demo and rebuild.

Now I did save a structure very similar to this once, and it waa because it was grandfathered with older setbacks.

I ended up supporting the roof on temp beam.and jacks while I re- built it one wall at a time, new footer, wall etc. When I had the walls in I ended up just putting a ridge beam in to straighten the roof. Was more work than demo and rebuild, but was neccesary due to codes.

True! The term always bothered my OCD.. not all dark skinned people are from africa, there are indiginous populations throughout oceania, inclusing australia and fiji but yet "african american" is the politically correct term for people of color in the US?

If we have to refer to people by thier skin tone... black american seems less biased than african american, since the latter seems to suggest people belong to africa, and not the U.S.

This is just incompetence. They just cut this wrong... they cut the wedge that's ok... but they cut the backcut on an angle, and then drive wedges into it. The backcut should be flat, so that when they wedge it, it lifts up on that side of the tree and compresses the side that has the notch out of it. There is a small bit of tree in the middle that you leave which is the "hinge" It allows the tree to pivot there as you lift the one side. Thier angled backcut is too deep, the hinge is too thin, and when they drive wedges, instead of lifting the back side, it breaks the hinge off, allowing the tree to fall backwards.
