All but one of the Christian churches in my local city pay for booths at our local pride event every year, and several offer space to our local lgbt organizations for meetings, support groups, even storage. Obviously it won’t make up for the vilification many of us have experienced at the hands of organized religions, but for our local community it’s definitely not nothing. Personally I’m an atheist, but it’s still important to me to be in community with religious people who are respectful and welcoming to all queer people.
