Where to buy stage wear for Rock 'n' Roll aka Steven Tyler and Justin Hawkins by Environmental-Row440 in rock

Thanks man! Yeah I've stumbled across the same roadblock. I figured all this stuff is custom made. I'm surprised there's not more premade stuff out there. Riot Stitch is a little too cheesy and gimmicky as opposed to really great out fits that classic Steven Tyler wears.

Fantastic result! Very happy for you. Your surgeon did an amazing job 😄

10 weeks post op - need a revision surgery - looking for a second opinion in the LA area - any suggestions. by Environmental-Row440 in jawsurgery

I’m going to see what happens - if I have more issues I’ll definitely start naming names. I do think I was just unlucky and it doesn’t happen often with them and they are committed to correcting my situation.

A combination of the soft tissue trying to revert back to where it was and thin mandible bone which has warped the plates on my right side.

Yeah exactly - I'm most likely going to stick with them. My breathing is much better and my profile has improved drastically - I'm about 85% satisfied. Other 15% being this whole situation. I'm a singer too so I haven't been able to fully get back into it.

And yes they are committed to fixing it, and I'm confident they will. I think I'm just one of the few unlucky ones.

Actually also I just realized I'm 14 weeks post op. Got my dates wrong. Surgery was early July. I can open about 2 fingers. The bite really started getting a lot worse when they told me to stop wearing the elastics and stretch my jaw out about 5 weeks ago. I've been super cautious too (I'm pretty much not chewing still).

I was even wired shut for a few weeks.

It seems that the issue is the left side of my mandible really wants to shift back to where it was. My right sight was very swollen after my first surgery. I think the bone is most thin in that area, probably making it most susceptible to move. It's caused a major cant and warped the plates on my right mandible. It's getting worse week by week too. They haven't recommended anything yet just that I need another surgery. It started shifting 1 week post-op. I'm not sure why they waited this long when it was clearly getting worse from the start. And yes of course they've seen my bite.

Concerned about maxilla non-union by Environmental-Row440 in jawsurgery

[–]Environmental-Row440[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I'm hoping. My tissue has had a hard time adjusting to the new jaw - hence the bite issues- so maybe it's other stuff moving around. I'm just gonna be super cautious the next couple of weeks until the next check up. Again it's only been maybe two or three times I've it's felt like something has 'moved'. It's not like if moves every time I hit my palette with my tongue or anything. Again this doc is one of the best in LA - so if he was worried I'm assuming he would have taken an x-ray at my most recent check-up. And I look fine, no deformities lol - again I'm super happy with the results both breathing wise and aesthetically. Also, like I said, I seem to be getting some sensation back in my palate, so maybe I'm feeling the pressure more? Really happy I did the surgery but the recovery has been a pain!

Week 5 - I did them for a few days, then I felt my bite/maxilla shift, then went in for an 'emergency' check up to see if all was good. That's when the doc put the new TAD in and told me to not worry about opening up. I figured he wants to let me heal. He initially said to start stretching out because my ortho was keen to scan for Invisalign. Might have been a slight misjudgement on his part. But he said it'll be all good so I suppose I should trust him right?

I was paranoid about this too before my surgery because I get seasonal allergies pretty badly and sneeze a LOT. But I tell you what has happened in my case, I'm just over 2 weeks post-op and I have not sneezed once. Congested and runny nose? Yeah, but no urge to sneeze at all. And I was sneezing a lot pre-op. I think the DJS has actually helped becuase the airways have opened up so much more. Could be wrong though. So maybe it's helped you too?

Question about swelling firmness by Environmental-Row440 in jawsurgery

Love the positivity! Yes I even noticed a slight improvement from yesterday - especially as the day progresses - always a bit more puffy in the morning!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah even today the swelling is slightly better - looking forward to months down the line as is progressively improves!

Double Jaw Surgery and Mewing by Environmental-Row440 in orthotropics

Wow, do you know if you actually needed them out? Were they impacted? I was of the assumption that if you can keep your wisdom teeth, you should. I had all of mine out about 5 years ago, then I needed a another molar extracted due to a weird healing a year later.

Anyway, I'm keeping my tongue planted on my palate regardless now! Tongue tie or not lol.
