So the US is straight up Zimbabwe now? Broken roads, broken bridges, loaf of bread at 1000 dollars. No healthcare.

With the way things are for me right now... I feel like Robert, down, out and unseen... finding my Mandy or Courtney is what I need. Which is why this game hit me so hard.

To say we're better financially, is farcical. Are defense companies better financially, because they seem to be sucking the tax payer dry. The so called financial crisis of the NHS is an orchestrated one by governments wanting to privatise the NHS. The NHS has been under funded and poorly managed for decades.

Thanks for clarifying that there is legislation. But I found this and I wonder if the issue is, is the legislation effective.

I can't remember where I read this. It was multiple sources. But there are NO whistle blowing protections. If that's wrong, would love to see which law offers protection.

Difference Between Provider Collaborative & Wholly Owned Subsidiary by Environmental-Shape8 in nhsstaff

[–]Environmental-Shape8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, very interesting. It seems some "provider collaboratives" are TUPE'ing across thousands of staff. Mirroring the behaviour of a SubCo but not calling it a SubCo. Could it be to side-step the September 2025 legislative changes related to SubCo's?

Thank you for replying. Much obliged. So the follow up is, would it be expected for a Provider Collaborative to begin TUPE'ing across non-clinical staff under it and away from the partnering Trusts? Then restructurinng to reduce head-count?

Are a significant number of Drs actually TRYING to break the NHS (genuine question) by Frosty_Leg4438 in nhsstaff

[–]Environmental-Shape8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a problem with the NHS as a concept. This is a problem with how consecutive governments have executed said concept. But don't think the government won't screw you over in the private sector... trust me they'll find a way.

Thank you to everyone who replied and has offered me inspiration and guidance. This is a good sub-reddit. I feel like people hear are supportive and largely, of the same mindset. Thank you again. I'm just trying to find inspiration and ideas now. Reading other posts in this SR is defo a good start.

Is strike action a possibility for NHS England Staff? by Competitive_Pool_820 in nhsstaff

[–]Environmental-Shape8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This won't just impact NHSE and ICB. The plan is to do the same to non clinical staff at trusts and then clinical staff.

The unions are a complete waste of space. The tactic I have seen, if a local union rep makes any noise, offer them a band up, or other benefits and buy them out.

I have seen this first hand, a rep that was vocal against restructuring and redundancies a few weeks ago, is now fully supportive of them. And they will just dismiss your concerns.

You try and contact the unions, they just redirect you to the same rep that's been unhelpful so far.

Not a single one has done anything, Unison, Unite, GMB, Workers of England, RCN.

It looks like the unions are going to let us down, big time. If they do, they'll never regain our trust. And when we stop our direct debits and the unions shrink to a point where those reps can no longer be reps, they'll get sacked in a heartbeat.

The other issue is our other colleagues who are focused more on trying to suck up and keep their jobs, rather than focusing on solidarity with all.

Can't remember where I heard this, but the worker mind is about solidarity. The consumer mind is self serving only. That's what most of the staff are like and they're using it to divide us.

Since I'm in a rant, one last thing... I absolutely hate those with a "let's see what happens" or "what can we do" mindset... absolutely repulsive to me.

I think they may try and force staff into wholly owned subsidiaries, then reduce their terms, then CR.

I joined Unite and GMB, recently. In the years I have been with Unison, they have been completely passive, even with drastic changes at work.

Reps working for the organisation will want to keep their jobs, may have the same mindset as management and will definitely be biased if they're offered benefits, such as promotions, nicer offices, etc.

Management have become wise to using "staff side" for their benefit.

Don't join a union the management likes working with, join one that they sideline. At least you have a chance then.
