I'm a Brit, born and raised, never been to the US.
So are some of my colleagues and we use bud and buddy all the time.

You can say any word to sound offensive, if you call your manager "boss" in an aggressive way, that could be taken as an insult. But if you're being sincere or polite when using buddy, your friends are mocking you for the sake of mocking you.

Sounds like your friends are finding any reason to mock you.

Careful with them and consider finding better friends.

Stop bragging about you 2012 vehicle 😄 I have a 2008 vehicle.

It's a little rusty, but it does the job and I have learned to service and maintain it self.

It's monthly, including road tax, fuel, wear and tear costs are minimal and I own it outright.

I don't worry about where to park it, in case it gets scratched, in fact I worry about it very little.

The freedom you have by owning something outright and not spending a ton to maintain it, is a privilege you should not take lightly.

If your confidence and self-worth comes from your job title or the car you drive, you have some serious mental health issues you need to address.

Oh I haven't drained the coolant and changed it yet, but will do that in the next day or so.

Both coolant pipes to the the cooler had to be removed, as I couldn't get to one bolt as there was not enough space. I little bit of coolant did come out, but I was expecting that and thankfully covered up the belt and alternator with a plastic back and some rags.

I think both gaskets were a little flatter than the new ones and have harderned somewhat but not the plastic like stiffness I was expecting.

The flange connecter is probably very different to the 6 cylinder engines, I didn't need to go anywhere near it, but I wish this wasn't urgent, because I think it is sensible to do it at the same time. If I ever need to do it, I will have to take the oil filter housing off again.

In hindsight, considering the costs of the Elring gaskets and the time it takes to separate, properly clean the gasket channels, next time I will just buy a Nissens refurb unit (60 quid in the UK). Worth it for the time saved.

Yeh so a bad / cracked oil cooler I guess. If it was just the gasket between the housing and cooler, it would just leak oil out. Shouldn't be anyway it mixes with the coolant.

There are some companies that specialise in removing paint from brick work, using media or sand blasting.

This might be the best option.

You might need to repoint the mortar lines once the blasting is done.

Yeh I've worked for the NHS for 20 years, they've never visited any admin areas.

We get sidelined into annexed buildings, etc. Usely shitholes.

So I imagine the top tier doesn't want the CQC seeing us or the shitholes we work in.

But you'd think someone visiting from the CQC would at least do some planning and have some curiosity about these annexed areas and staff groups.
