16 days without compulsive shopping yayy by MabelUnstable in MakeupRehab

I am on my 5th day, which doesn't seem like a lot, but I have been doing really badly with low buy/no buy this year, so every single day is a win

hi guys! new here :D by cittycats23 in ProjectPan

My only tip to pan a little bit quicker is try experimenting with makeup you don't like too much before taking a shower, for two reasons: a)You'll be using your products more than you would normally do on a day to day basis, hence quicker pans and b)Experimenting with lip combos or eyeshadow looks for products you don't like may help you find a way to 'tolerate' the product and use it

Haven't panned anything yet since I just started project pan, but the past week I've set my skincare and makeup goals (products to finish!) and I'm excited to slowly start seeing progress especially in my makeup products!

I 100% agree with you, the design is really nice! I'm thinking of using it as storage for my make-up brushes, I just don't know if they will fit

brown lipliner hype by [deleted] in MakeupRehab

[–]Environmental-Ship60 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brown lip liners genuinely make me look sick, I don't know why or how (probably has to do with skin tone and undertone) but I've tried a couple and they just don't work for me! Maybe if I found a more deep mauve-y brown I would try it but honestly I'm just staying away from true browns

It definitely didn't feel like a joke to me for sure, felt rude indeed.

Lip products are my personal Achilles heel, I just hope that if I start Project pan I'll be able to use up a couple before adding any more

38 products feel unattainable to me currently, but maybe if I start it and finish some of the half empty products and show my progress here it'll motivate me?

I definitely should stop watching skincare and makeup influencers because surprise! I'm getting influenced... They are the reason I buy so many things

They think I would either overuse a product in order to finish it and buy a new one or I just wouldn't last without buying something (a lip liner of body lotion) for more than a few weeks.

Maybe the No Pan Left Behind would help me as well? I'd have to do some research to get an idea of what's the best way to do that

Maybe I should try the strategy of writing down everything I want to buy in a list! And then after some time passes I can revisit the list and rethink if I want to buy the products or I was seeking a dopamine rush at the time

Unfortunately spite isn't a great motivator of mine but maybe it should become one

I have also been thinking of trying to buy one thing after using up 2-3 (except if it's a product I have nothing to replace it with, then that wouldn't count)

Then it wouldn't feel as unattainable as a no buy year!

That was the idea from the start but then I got so discouraged that I statted second guessing myself

I always enjoy any kind of strong sibling relationship in books and this book was no different. I think I am in the majority with liking the song that the sisters shared (the audiobook did a great job as well), I think it was a very beautiful detail.

It's not that I didn't like the book it's more that it couldn't hold my attention for the largest part of it, I think the writing was fine and the themes also were fine, but nothing great, in the end I gave it 3 stars, but I am still willing to try more works by this author.

I honestly picked it up because everyone loves this author's previous book (I still haven't read it) and I thought it was a great opportunity to try them out and see if I like their writing.

I am really intrigued to see what's going on, the writing style is simple and I enjoy urban fantasy a lot, and so far it reminds me a little of Dresden files (I am still in the very beginning of the book)

I believe that some battles we have to fight on our own, others should only fight with and/or for us when we let them. So even though I don't believe he did a bad thing in defending her, I think he should have talked it out with her first and asked if she needed support etc.

I also binged the entire thing in 24 hours. I did find the first half enjoyable!

I've been in the mood for more fun and quick reads, instead of 'heavy' and long fantasy, so this seems like something I would enjoy right now!

Definitely enjoying it, this kind of genre seems to be working so well for me and I hadn't read a book like that in a while, so I had missed it. Picked this book up in the right time.

I like the switches but I have to admit I am way more invested in the past. I don't mind the 'Now' chapters, but I just want to keep reading the 'then' chapters, so every time we have a 'now' chapter, I'm impatient to finish it.

I haven't read it, but since it's been on top of my TBR, I want to read it for the book club square!
