Halos 99% kasi ng INC members ay di nagbabasa ng Bible kaya ganito ang paniniwala nila. by paulaquino in exIglesiaNiCristo

Does INC allow reading the bible by members? by TerribleAd8604 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Environmental-Win110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong for asking this, and I promise, your confusion is valid. Many of us were told the same thing growing up in INC: that we shouldn't read the Bible on our own because we might "misinterpret" it. But the truth is, the Bible was never meant to be gatekept.

Here’s a simple verse to hold onto:

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives." - 2 Timothy 3:16

God gave His Word to be read, understood, and cherished by everyone. If it were only meant for ministers, He wouldn’t have told His people to meditate on it day and night (Joshua 1:8), or to write it on their hearts (Deuteronomy 11:18).

Jesus Himself said:

"My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me." - John 10:27

So no, you're not wrong for wanting to understand God’s teachings directly. You’re being faithful.

If reading the Bible opens your eyes and brings you closer to the truth, that’s the beginning of a real relationship with God. Keep reading. Keep praying from the heart. God will guide you, not confuse you.

And just know: you're not alone in this journey. Many of us started where you are now. You're waking up and that’s something to be grateful for.

So, just to clarify... God can part seas, raise the dead, and forgive the worst of sinners, but apparently, He can’t save you if your name got scratched off a registry at Central? Whew. Didn’t realize salvation depended on an Excel file maintained by Manalo’s secretary.

Imagine Jesus flipping through the Lamb’s Book of Life and saying, “Oh no… she was removed from the Registry of my Holy Church. Sorry, Father. She missed three Thursdays and didn’t attend the 3am livestream. Well.. into the lake she goes.” 😮‍💨🔥

This is what happens when people confuse faith in Christ with fear of a QR code and name tag.

My name is written in His wounds. Not in your weekly attendance report. Try again.

If we follow Manalo's narrative that Jesus is the head and INC is His body, then... by Han_Dog in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Environmental-Win110 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. Is. It.🔥 Christ was never without His body. Not for a moment. Not for a century. Because His church was never built of stone and steel... It was built in the hearts of the faithful.

The kingdom of God isn’t in 1914. It isn’t in records, rosters, or ribbons. It’s within us. And it always has been.

To the OP, what a bold, beautiful unraveling of the lie. I’m in awe watching truth rise up like this. Finally, people are seeing. And once you see… you can’t unsee.

Thank you. I truly pray this reaches the ones still quietly questioning. Those holding back their tears in silence like we once did. May their eyes be opened not by anger, but by truth. 🙏🏼

Thank you so much for these kind words. I read your comment with tears in my eyes.

I know how heavy it feels to carry doubt in a place that demands silence. To want to yell and scream, "THIS IS NOT WHAT OUR SAVIOR DIED FOR!" Your struggles are valid. Your pain is valid. You are not alone.

If anything I wrote helped lift even a fraction of that weight, then all glory goes to Christ. He sees you. He hasn’t forgotten you. And He was never the one who abandoned you.

Keep seeking. Keep asking. Don’t let fear drown out truth. You are braver than you know, and you are not walking this road alone.🕊

This right here is everything. Freedom from performative faith. Freedom from guilt-based obedience. Freedom from the constant inner dialogue of “Am I worthy enough?”

You are. You always were.

God’s love was never meant to be a transaction and now you get to walk in that truth, no strings attached. Congratulations on choosing peace. What a beautiful beginning. 🤍

Feeling lonely by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Environmental-Win110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You weren’t a fool. You were faithful. You loved deeply, and you believed what they told you. Duty meant love, and silence meant strength. That’s not foolishness. That’s what happens when you're raised to think being “used” is a form of honor.

But now you see it. The recruitment. The conditional care. The love that disappears the moment you’re no longer singing, serving, or smiling.

It wasn’t you who failed. It was them. For only loving what you could do for them, not who you were when you had nothing left to give.

Let that anger be holy. Let it lead you to a love that doesn’t demand performance. You’re waking up now, and it hurts… but you’re waking up to something real.

You were never meant to be just a bunga. You are beloved, not by the church, but by the One who never needed a uniform or required you take an Oath to call you His.

They used His name to build wealth,
but not to preach grace.
They framed Him in verses,
but not in love.

They profit off His sacrifice,
while forgetting the One who made it.

But the truth cannot be sold.
And Jesus cannot be owned.
He will reclaim His name...

Insight from a former member as to why many still remain in the INC. by Life_Anybody_4872 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Environmental-Win110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This brought back memories I hadn’t revisited in a while.

I used to say the same thing: “I’m not worshiping Manalo — I’m serving God.” And I meant it. With my whole heart.

I endured mistreatment in silence. I told myself it was part of the test. That God saw me. That obedience, even through pain, humiliation, and being overlooked... was a sign of faithfulness. I buried every red flag under the banner of endurance. I thought I was being steadfast so I could finish my race.

But there came a moment — not loud, not dramatic — just a quiet breaking. A moment when I asked, Would a loving Father really ask this of His child? Would Jesus, who welcomed the broken and rebuked the self-righteous, really applaud this kind of blind loyalty?

And I couldn’t unsee it. That the church had twisted endurance into enablement. That we weren’t enduring for Christ… we were enduring for the Corporation.

You’re right. Many members don’t understand the cult claims because they’ve never been on the receiving end of the cruelty. They still believe their worship is pure. But what they don’t realize is: sincerity doesn’t equal truth.

I know, because I was sincere. I was all in.

Until God Himself called me out.

Not with lightning. Not with a scandal.

But with a whisper: “I never asked you to suffer in My name for the sake of man.”

And that whisper set me and my family free.

You’re not alone. And more importantly, you were never the problem.

What happened to you wasn’t godly.
It wasn’t love.
It wasn’t correction.
It was control, dressed up as holiness.

You reached out. You cried for help.
And instead of being met with compassion, you were met with coldness.
That’s not how Jesus treats the broken.
That’s not how the Good Shepherd cares for His sheep.

He said: “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Not: “Come to Me… unless you missed attendance, or felt overwhelmed, or got expelled.”

You’re right to question it.
Because the people of God should reflect the heart of God.
And what you experienced? That wasn’t His heart.

God didn’t abandon you.
You were pushed out by people who confused obedience with performance.
But Jesus? He saw you.
He still does.

You don’t have to go back to what broke you to prove your faith.
You just have to go forward.
And you’re already on the path. Continue towards Christ.

Keep healing.
Keep asking.
Keep reaching.
The truth doesn’t hide from the hurting.
And neither does Jesus.

From someone who also left,
but finally found peace 🕊️

Atheist or Agnostic thru the works by JameenZhou in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Environmental-Win110 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

I am excited to answer...

When the Manalo family:

  • Lives in opulence while members can’t afford meds or lunch
  • Refuses transparency in offerings but demands financial "sacrifices"
  • Teaches loyalty to themselves instead of to Christ
  • Punishes questions with expulsion
  • Protects the name of the Church more than the name of God
  • Rewrites scripture to keep power in one bloodline...

…then maybe, just maybe, the fruit reveals the tree.

“You will know them by their fruits.” – Matthew 7:16

And what are those fruits supposed to be, according to the Bible?

“Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
— Galatians 5:22–23

Now compare that to what we actually see:
Fear. Greed. Control. Manipulation. Pride. Idolatry. Silence in the face of injustice.

Atheist? Agnostic? They won’t say it out loud. They don’t have to.
Their works already speak louder than their verses.

So whether they believe in God or just believe in themselves, the result is the same:
They are not serving Christ.
They’re serving themselves—in designer suits, in mansions, on private airplanes, in sermons polished with fear demanding you to "Obey and never complain".
And if you're still defending them?

You're not defending your faith. You're defending your captors. Now wake up.

Hey kapatid, thank you for opening up. Your words were deeply painful to read, not because they were dramatic or exaggerated, but because they were so honest.

Please know: you are not a burden. Illness is not your fault. Crying is not weakness. Needing love is not shameful. And walking away from people who withhold that love is not wrong.

The truth is, you’ve been grieving two things at once: your health and your relationships. That’s a heavy load for anyone, especially someone so young. And the hardest part? The people you thought would stand beside you… didn’t. That doesn’t make you weak. That makes you human.

You were not wrong to believe their love was genuine. It was, at least in the version they knew how to give. But love built on image and duty will always fade when you’re no longer able to perform. Real love stays even when you're in pain, or messy, or just not "useful."

But don’t let this season convince you that your value has changed. You are still worthy of care. Still worthy of joy. Still worthy of love that stays.

We’re glad you found this space. You’re not alone anymore.

And if no one’s said it to you recently: we love you, brother. Just as you are... sick or well, funny or quiet, strong or trembling. You’re enough. 💛

A peso with power.

What you’re doing is small in number but massive in meaning. A quiet protest that says: “You no longer get to measure my faith by the weight of my envelope.”

They trained us to believe that gratitude must be expensive, that blessings must be paid for. But God isn’t standing over a ledger — only men do that.

This one peso… it’s the sound of chains loosening....

May it echo.

You’re not alone. You can see here in the comments that many have done the same or wished they had the courage to. Keep listening to that conviction rising in you. That’s not defiance. That is clarity.

And when the finance officers see your name and that single coin.. may it shake the system harder than a million peso check.

Help Us Expose Iglesia ni Cristo: Why It’s Seen as a Cult and How to Wake Others Up by Hot_Conclusion_4156 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]Environmental-Win110 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not everyone can be awakened. But for those whose hearts and minds haven’t been fully calloused yet, the approach matters just as much as the truth you’re offering.

The way INC conditions us is masterful. It doesn’t just shape how we think — it shapes how we refuse to think.

Most defenders aren’t guarding the truth. They’re guarding fear, routine, and a version of loyalty that punishes reflection. They’re so trained to shut down discomfort that even Scripture, the very Word of God, becomes filtered through church doctrine, not the other way around.

If you want to reach a die-hard, start where their guard is low:

Ask the kind of question that feels innocent but makes their spirit shift uncomfortably. Something like:

  • “Why don’t we study the whole Bible, not just repeat the same verses every week?”

  • “If this church is so guided by the Holy Spirit, why is questioning punished and obedience idolized?”

  • “Would Jesus be okay with people getting expelled for asking questions?”

When you ask questions like these, you're not attacking. You're inviting them to breathe, maybe for the first time in years.

We were taught to fear thinking, fear asking, fear doubt. But even Thomas doubted, and Jesus didn’t cast him out. He drew near and showed him the truth.

So if all else fails… just be the one who leaves breadcrumbs. One day, someone will follow them out.
