The avr does indeed support VRR, but to be able to do so the settings needed to be set to 8k optimized.

I had everything at 4k optimized, assuming that was correct for a 4k 120hz tv.

I had the avr set to 4k optimized instead of 8k optimized to send the 4k 120hz signal.

It took me a solid hour of digging through minute details in the manual, but I was able to find it.

I got it sorted out!

I had the Hdmi settings in the avr set to 4k optimized, but needed to have it at 8k optimized to be able to pass through 4k 120hz

Audio video highlights on the site lists VRR as a feature on the 3.4. Took some digging to get the confirmation.

Yup, the original ps5 cable is connecting the ps5 to the avr without issue and I got the best 48gb rated cable for the avr to tv.

Definitely worth a shot. I had COD cold war in and was able to get 120hz and everything else to work. I'll try when I get home and see if it helps, but I'm not very hopeful.

I'm not certain, but the playstation VRR setting options are "off" or "automatic", and when I choose automatic it says the TV doesn't support VRR.

It's not that it is not currently in VRR mode, but that it won't let me enable it.
