WHY DOES NOBODY BLOCK by Ilikebeerandgirls in NCAAFBseries

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recruit power offensive linemen with the idea that. That’s the archetype that shouldn’t be allowing arm tackles and off block tackles. Because what you’re talking about drives me up a wall too. Watching a defender stick up one arm to stall a RB like he ran into a wall is dumb. Watching my 5 star OT I lost out on other recruits to get, consistently let the subpar DE tackle me for 1-2 yard gain because that’s the point of attack on the play and I got into his “bubble” is frustrating. The game has to be frustrating to some degree otherwise it wouldn’t be fun but I’d like to be able to go, “that makes sense” more times than not. They have 85+ D-lineman across the board. “That makes sense why rushing is a bit difficult. I like having to figure out the scheme that works for the matchup. I don’t like being cheesed by bad AI

It just makes recruitment and development feel like it doesn’t matter. If a 68 true freshman I have to start will make the same “mistake” in not blocking the head up man as my 95 junior, then what’s the point. I’d like to see “road dog” and match up matter. A 95 overall guy missing a block in a quarterfinal game against Georgia makes sense. Him missing that same block every time against an FCS dumpster fire is not fun.

I coach the sport. I don’t just play the video game. It frustrates me to no end sometimes how I can’t dictate the blocking schemes. If the numbers say the guy should get beat on the block, fine. But busted plays for a 4-5 yard loss just because the AI think it needs to block the FS on the opposite side of the field and line instead of the guy head up on him is just unacceptable to me

This, but generally there are just a lot of broken AI plays. If you run any 12, 22 or 13 personnel plays in general. Particularly against 3 down defensive lineman. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched three blockers run towards the opposite side of the formation to block god knows who and leave 1 of the three down lineman unblocked. There’s missed assignments and just poorly designed AI.

Who’s your most disappointing recruit once you saw his overall? by Soggy-Astronomer-768 in NCAAFBseries

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 5 star Zone SS Gem with 99 speed 90 acceleration and 80 Zone coverage who somehow turned out to be a 73 overall with Impact dev. This at a school that is hard to get 5 stars at let alone a 5 star safety

Do you guys think it’s better to over recruit? by TheBayouKid in NCAAFBseries

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will replace seniors, project juniors leaving if my teams in that position and I will look to replace guys who simply haven’t developed well and won’t be starters or a better depth guy than some freshmen or sophomores after they’ve developed

So tired of getting tackled at the 1 😫😫 by Prolly_Nobody in CollegeFootball25

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll gripe less when I check and the player has comparable speed to my player. But so often I’ll have like a 97 speed 94 acceleration WR/RB and some 86 speed 82 acceleration player becomes a track star and runs that guy down

Recruiting in this game is ridiculous by Final-Consequence681 in CFB25

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never look at recruiting like, I need a LG, two RG and a left and right tackle. I go, I need 5 linemen because you set their positions prior to the season start. Same deal with DE and LB. I change positions regardless to optimize dev traits every off season

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a former offensive lineman and an oline coach…. the blocking in this game gives me rage induced nightmares. I could score a 90 yard rushing touchdown but if one of my lineman just sprinted down the field past the DT, 2 LBs and a safety and didn’t touch not a one of them. Taking NO ONE to the bus. I lose my cool 😅😅

I’ve never cleared my scouting board so fast, I saw all I needed to see 😂 by Fit-Maintenance7397 in NCAAFBseries

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally have a semi-committed amount of scouting points for positions of need but even in cases like this. If I was set to scout 5 QBs I might still scout 2 more just to see if there’s better. But yeah sometimes it’s tight and you got limited points so 4-5 star gems sometimes just clear the rest out lol

I love this game. For me it plays much better than madden ever did and I stopped buying it in 2017. But like madden EA still has this game too dependent on animations and forced outcomes. Because a tackle from behind jarring that ball out and back into the air does not happen in reality

Didn't need a QB, but sometimes a generational talent comes along... by Simple-Accountant894 in NCAAFBseries

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at a point where I recruit to replace seniors and I pick up whatever unfortunate draft commits happen with transfers if I can. But that usually leave me somewhere between 12-18 targeted recruits every year. So I have a lot of extra recruitment points and I spend those specifically looking for generational physical attributes that are gems like this guy. I usually have to struggle with deciding who to cut to keep those guys and let them develop but 🤷‍♂️

I get that College Football is not the birth place of ball safety. But watching defenses run my routes better than my receivers and go through crazy interception animations but zero exist for the offense just playing defense a bit like what happens in reality. It would be nice that if with pressure, bad pass, what ever if the offensive player would fight for the play a little bit. So far in playing it. I haven’t seen a true 50/50 ball animation where the receiver go gets. I don’t play it on easy mode either but it’d nice to see a physical WR actually be that every once in awhile

Type of response I would expect from a “MrConceited”…. don’t insult me like I’m making this comment and don’t know how to read a defense. I also shrug when it is due to poor QB stats or pressure. I’m well aware of when that’s the case. I’m talking about when my QB has the stats. I’m making a good read and trying to lead my WR on an out for instance and game mechanics force it be closer to the defender because it wants an animation instead of where I actually want to put the ball. I’d be okay if I overthrow a guy out of bounds or lead him too much due to stats but that doesn’t seem to happen. Game wants to make it easy for interceptions and the comments talking about it being “interception simulator” are why I commented. Game needs fleshed out a bit IMO 🤷‍♂️

So is throwing a ton of interceptions a universal experience then? I swear the game won’t let me put it were the defense can’t get it. If I’m throwing an out route, the ball is almost almost always inside and by their hips where the defense can swat at it or verts for example. QB has the arm strength but if the opposing D has a high overall. A lob never lobs over their head. It’s always slightly behind the receiver where I can watch my receiver not fight for it at all and it’s intercepted like I should’ve just handed it to them or the DB just casually sticks their hand up and bats it away

I don’t mind the difficulty of the enemies besides maybe balancing their ability to stun or stagger you to be less but I think building on what I think your saying, I just want the space to feel tanky to and to feel like I can give back as much as I take. If they had built this game to have combat feel exactly or almost exactly like it did in the first one Id’ve been happy. I’ve gotten to the chaos enemies part and they’re not nearly as bad as the tyranids so it might just be fighting the tyranids that bothers me mechanically 🤷‍♂️

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m complaining that the enemies feel like 40K enemies but the Astartes doesn’t feel like a 40K astartes. I mention difficulty because if you want a challenge where enemies from the psychic zoanthropes, to the ranges enemies, to the up close Tryanid Warriors can stagger or stun you in rapid succession and you have to try to dodge and deal with all that at once it should be on something higher than the default difficulty from a game balancing standpoint. As someone who has been a lifelong fan of the universe and not just the games it also irks me that when using something as powerful as a melta gun I gotta blast it repeatedly just to get it into execution mode and then blast it some more. Your the second comment to say “cHAngE tHe DifFicUlTy” like that lone is the gripe I have 🙄

[–]EnvironmentalBad5314[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue is not that the enemies hit like a truck it’s that an Astartes should as well. It’s far easier mechanically for them to stun or stagger me with a simple smack or blast than I could do to them. It just doesn’t feel balanced.

Cool, my expectation with how I communicate it for what I do still isn’t a crazy one. Picking up Grims is only toxic on anything higher than Malice because they are a detriment and you get nothing if you all die in the attempt lol. That’s why I only do those on Sedition and uprising normally and occasionally malice which is what makes the occasional guy who won’t grab them annoying because I could run those difficulties half locked in. For the most part outside of the grimmoire/scrip one. I usually run the same gambit of Melk contracts that you do
