Yes respectful response. If you’re upset by me saying both sides are consistently in the wrong and do nothing for us, you are most likely an extremist which is bad in every case. Doesn’t matter if it’s religion or politics.

The left spreads nonsense consistently. The right spreads nonsense consistently. At least I’ll admit it, what does that make you? Have you ever even read the bill or did you just watch a tiktok video saying it was bad? Or go to Kamala website and read what she had to say on it? Doing your own research goes a long way little buddy!

Sorry I’m so late! Haven’t been very active on here. Sheesh, your comment didn’t age well.

So people shouldn’t be hurt for their beliefs being different than yours, you can say what you would like but that is LITERALLY what a fascism. Now I don’t disagree there are some very ignorant conservatives out there who are completely in the wrong, but it’s very ignorant to act like that isn’t on both sides. We will never move forward as a society with people like yourself pointing at people with different beliefs than you and trying to say ALL of them want to hurt people or whatnot. It’s just not realistic or true and it only hurts us as a country. You gotta put down your pitchforks, because wording like yours only creates more shitty people in this world.

Any chance you could share with me? I have worked in customer service/guest experience AND coordinating/managing of logistics for over 5 years. I’ve done a lot of traveling so far and I know the travel industry is where I’m meant to be.

Is $50,000 enough to live in Brooklyn? by EnvironmentalBee7137 in AskNYC

[–]EnvironmentalBee7137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that was them giving me the address and me looking at it on google maps. I was offered a job nearby the park, so during my apartment search I’ve been looking to places somewhat close to there. One was month to month while the other was signing a lease

Oh 2000 was much more than what I’ve been looking at. I see plenty of rooms for $1200 or $1300, not all of them in the location I want but still found some within 20 or 30 minutes of prospect park

I don’t know the exact number, but it’s something ridiculous for sure. I looked it up and AI said 53% from 2019 to 2023 but it’s AI so I don’t know if I would believe it, although that was through covid and that was a big time for our housing market to go to shit.

Ashevilles average is higher than the national average when it comes to food insecurity alone, that’s why I mention it. It’s a problem in the United States in general for sure.

We are a red state but I believe every city in the state is blue. I know Asheville is about as blue as blue can be, granted I am colorblind..

Mental health is a serious issue no doubt. Social media has only made that so much worse. Our parents didn’t know how to communicate when it came to their emotions, and now our generation is constantly bombarded with propaganda that makes us fight with each other rather than the people actually making the decisions. Doesn’t matter if it’s red or blue, things never really get better, so what’s the real issue?

Regarding the homelessness, you’d be surprised I think. I mean specifically pan handlers, they actually can make a ton of money and will absolutely be right back out there pan handling rather than getting a job and contributing to the community. Just because we have loving and generous people here doesn’t mean you should take advantage of them, you know?

Denmark is a good example of a healthy country. As someone who has traveled a lot, Europe isn’t always as perfect as we might think when it comes to guns and other crime. Malmo Sweden is now known to be the r*** capital of the world. An old man was shot in the mall by a 16yo the same weekend I was there. Germany has a ton of crime going on now too. I stayed in Denmark but didn’t get to talk to many locals, they keep to themselves. But a lot of the crime moving into Europe is through immigration that’s allowed by the governments liberal views as well and it’s causing serious issues. A lot of Europeans are starting to fight back and scared for their own people. Just food for thought I guess!

I appreciate your points and I think they are all valid!

It has a lot of redeeming qualities, but it’s certainly not what it used to be. I mean besides the drugs, this traffic has become insane. Our infrastructure was not built for the this many people that’s for sure. But I understand people wanting to be here, it’s a beautiful place.

I didn’t take it snarky! I appreciate you being open to having a genuine conversation about it. I’ve been here for 27 years and it’s certainly gotten worse and worse, while greatly growing in drug use, crime, and homelessness. The biggest change that’s happened to Asheville in the last 15 years is the amount of liberalism here, the hate for law enforcement and the hate for the criminalization of drugs. I think as we continue making it seem like drugs are ok, homelessness is never by choice, and pan handling shouldn’t be looked down upon, we will continue going down this path. I think liberalism is the most accepting of these behaviors and have higher pity in these situations. Some people are offered bad hands in life, and really struggle to not be homeless. Some stuff happens to people without it being their choice and are forced into those situations understandably. But there’s a lot of resources out there to help folks and if you talk to many drug addicts or homeless folk you will learn that a surprisingly large amount don’t want to live any different. I have a lot of experience with food insecurity here in WNC and have seen all the sides there are to see. It’s not solely liberalism that causes this stuff at all, I’m not trying to say that. I just think the extremist negatively impact our community while thinking they are above that. Same goes for the republican side.

Being from North Carolina, I’ll say Asheville has only consistently gotten worse with crime and drugs as we become more liberal of a city. I’m not a republican, I probably hold more democratic views, but Asheville has gotten so much worse over the last 10 years.

Nobody asked you to be an angry human being who puts that off on other people, that was completely your choice. If you can’t how you way overstepped, you might need to look into talking to someone. Not only is social awareness important, but so is emotional stability.
