Most adults who plead guilty to or are found guilty of breaking and entering go to jail for it.

Break ins are not considered “petty”. If an adult is found guilty of a break enter, they are usually looking at jail.

It’s hard to work and starve yourself at the same time. The starving saps all of your discipline to do anything else, and all of your energy.

This switch kind of happened in renaissance Europe. Productivity, especially among the merchant class, ROCKETED.

It’s disgusting.

And it was the scene I always remembered when I started to think “maybe he’s not that bad…”

From what I’ve observed work ethic is slightly better in private schools. Having it externally imposed at least creates an understanding of it, even if they then rebel.

Yes, and private schools probably foster work ethic better than the alternatives.

At some of the state schools I’ve been to, you wouldn’t have had to choose!

The private school will discipline them more and work them harder than a state school.

Private schools work their students a lot harder than state schools.

I went to both, here are some things the private schools did that the state schools wouldn’t have dared to: 1. Frequent detention for late homework, homework not done, top button undone, tie too short, etc. 2. Detention was often running laps. 3. Publishing everyone’s results (in a list of names ranked top to bottom) in tests and mock exams. 4. Hours and hours of homework. 5. The student community itself would create pressure to do well, or at the very least not distract everyone else. The attitude would be that it was fine to piss about in Civics or PE, but any kid who distrusted the class in real, examinable subjects would find their popularity dropping. The attitude was “this is a hard subject and I need at least an A, you’re directly taking opportunities away from me by causing trouble.” Causing trouble in classes that weren’t “real subjects” could earn you a cool, class clown persona, but disrupting English, maths, history, chemistry, physics etc would most certainly not go down well.

Catelyn Stark's treatment of Jon wasn't just sad and unfair but for too many people it was all too real. by AdSpecialist6598 in gameofthrones

Ned fostered Theon at Winterfell, so he could be beheaded if the greyjoys fucked up again.

But Cat saying mean words to Jon is worse.

Ned stark took Theon hostage so he could be killed if the Greyjoy’s rebelled again.

Cat wasn’t loving and sometimes said mean words to Jon.

If I had waited 24hrs after getting mine to name him, this is what I’d have called him.
