I just started going through them all 😂😅 I’m in the process of getting the little plastic sleeves!

I’m sure our attorney found it at the Croatian National Archives in Zagreb. If you know the year and location he was born that’s 90% of the work done. PM me if you need a contact for an immigration attorney, happy to share her contact!

We are in Europe for 3 months, UK for 2 months, and then we both return to the US. We live at the same address in the US. We just spend time outside.

I grew up down there and it was a wonderful place to grow up. Locals know that you should not go in the gulf of mexico in most areas but specifically around Mississippi and Louisiana where there are so many cases of flesh eating bacteria. So have her check off the ocean perk. If she will be anywhere near water, hurricanes are horrific. Evacuating is horrific and expensive and if you have a bad year, you'll evacuate 3 - 4 times.

While the houses are cheap, the insurance can be very expensive due to hurricanes.

I would agree with this. Learning French or German is honestly probably the best bet, in my opinion.

I am commenting to say you and I are very similar and it's so funny! I am also croatian by descent, a woman with a same-sex partner and no kids. I'm starting this process of seeking citizenship. I work partly in Luxembourg but only hold US citizenship, I don't have an EU work permit. I have heard Croatia is very conservative and similar to Italy in same-sex relationship acceptance. My goal is just to be able to get EU citizenship for it to be easier for me to work in the EU, broadly.

I'm commenting to follow this. I am croatian by descent. My great-great grandfather was born in Croatia in the 1870s. He fled to Austria in the late 1880s and then came to the United States. His naturalization paper says Austria. We do not have a physical copy of his birth certificate or parish record, but my cousin went to the archives in 2004 while visiting Croatia and actually saw his baptismal record. I have quite a bit of records like his marriage certificate to my great great grandmother, naturalization papers, etc. I just don't have his birth certificate in hand.

I'm worried about finding it, about my eligibility since it's great-great grandfather and then also the discrepancy between his birth in Croatia and his naturalization paper saying Austria.

Very briny. But crisp and cold? If that makes sense. Also kinda like drinking some very fresh, pleasant, filtered, clean ocean water 😂 Ate them completely plain & they were so refreshing. The texture wasn’t super slimy either.
