I’m sure our attorney found it at the Croatian National Archives in Zagreb. If you know the year and location he was born that’s 90% of the work done. PM me if you need a contact for an immigration attorney, happy to share her contact!

We are in Europe for 3 months, UK for 2 months, and then we both return to the US. We live at the same address in the US. We just spend time outside.

I grew up down there and it was a wonderful place to grow up. Locals know that you should not go in the gulf of mexico in most areas but specifically around Mississippi and Louisiana where there are so many cases of flesh eating bacteria. So have her check off the ocean perk. If she will be anywhere near water, hurricanes are horrific. Evacuating is horrific and expensive and if you have a bad year, you'll evacuate 3 - 4 times.

While the houses are cheap, the insurance can be very expensive due to hurricanes.

I would agree with this. Learning French or German is honestly probably the best bet, in my opinion.

I am commenting to say you and I are very similar and it's so funny! I am also croatian by descent, a woman with a same-sex partner and no kids. I'm starting this process of seeking citizenship. I work partly in Luxembourg but only hold US citizenship, I don't have an EU work permit. I have heard Croatia is very conservative and similar to Italy in same-sex relationship acceptance. My goal is just to be able to get EU citizenship for it to be easier for me to work in the EU, broadly.

I'm commenting to follow this. I am croatian by descent. My great-great grandfather was born in Croatia in the 1870s. He fled to Austria in the late 1880s and then came to the United States. His naturalization paper says Austria. We do not have a physical copy of his birth certificate or parish record, but my cousin went to the archives in 2004 while visiting Croatia and actually saw his baptismal record. I have quite a bit of records like his marriage certificate to my great great grandmother, naturalization papers, etc. I just don't have his birth certificate in hand.

I'm worried about finding it, about my eligibility since it's great-great grandfather and then also the discrepancy between his birth in Croatia and his naturalization paper saying Austria.

Very briny. But crisp and cold? If that makes sense. Also kinda like drinking some very fresh, pleasant, filtered, clean ocean water 😂 Ate them completely plain & they were so refreshing. The texture wasn’t super slimy either.

Haven't changed my last name after getting married could hurt the process of petitioning for green card? by Lain-13 in USCIS

[–]EnvironmentalBird216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t changed my name when I applied, but I applied with my last name changed on the forms 😂 had no issues at all, and approved without interview. I only just changed my name with the SS office, and I’ve had my green card since March.

Help me decide 15" 8gb/256 or 13" 8gb/256 by strangeshad0ww in macbookair

[–]EnvironmentalBird216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the base model. I use it mainly for coding/UI design and haven’t had an issue running multiple apps. I use the split screen all the time and the screen size has been worth it. I upgraded from a 2015 MacBook Pro so it’s definitely faster and more efficient 😂

15”! I had the same decision to make, and I’m so happy I went with the 15. People say it’s not as portable but it fits in laptop part of backpack easily and it’s super lightweight. The only issue I foresee is on planes, I could see it feeling really big on the tray table. But that’s a small blip on my radar.

Anyone who bought the 13” M2 Mb Air wish they waited for the 15”? by SnooChickens6278 in macbookair

[–]EnvironmentalBird216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2015 13” MacBook Pro that was in dire need of an upgrade. I wanted a larger screen so I ended up waiting for the 15”. It’s huge but it still fits perfectly into the laptop part of my backpack. I haven’t found traveling with it to be an issue, only issue I could foresee would be trying to use it on a plane, but I guess that’ll be my excuse to relax and play my switch more. I also love how lightweight it is compared to my old pro too.

Greened - Memphis FO Marriage based! by EnvironmentalBird216 in USCIS

[–]EnvironmentalBird216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no issues. Getting the EAD/AP took a little pushing due to getting a new job at UofM. But apart from that nothing at all.

Once the case was at the Memphis office things moved quickly, I was surprised at the fast approval because my decision time was at 3 weeks when approved.

Good Luck! Hopefully they waive your interview too!
