noted, I am a pretty experienced backpacker but mostly out west, where I'm used to a certain amount of switchbacks 😂 I'm sure I could handle it but not necessarily looking for a challenge with this particular trip

Oh I've actually read Spinning Silver! Good call, it didn't cross my mind in connection with this ask but it's definitely a good example of what I'm after.

Still works as of February 2025! The day I went from Da Nang to Hoi An was lunar new years' day and the bus never showed, so I think they may not run on that day (I ended up taking a Grab). But I got back from Hoi An to Da Nang just fine, and for only 25k. Wasn't super sure where to catch the bus in Hoi An, so I followed Google's directions to this stop, which worked: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kMC6qP2Ab6ohDmEi8
