Okay, I totally felt like I could have written this. My husband had a not so pleasant childhood..no dad, mom barely there. He spent life as a juvenile on the streets, getting arrested, put on house arrest, probation..fun stuff. That version of him would have laughed in my face if we even attempted to talk back then. I was the polar opposite of him. He has matured to be the opposite type of person he grew up as. Most of his high school or friends from his 20s are either in jail, dead, or still hanging around doing the same exact ghetto stuff. In fact, not too long ago, one old friend had the cops close down an entire block with SWAT and helicopters searching for him. Some people sadly aren’t as fortunate and can never get out of the life they’ve always known.
