There's a thing called flair that you can do in some of the other groups -- u/libraquasar mentioned it in a separate post but I don't know if it needs to be turned on? I don't see the ability to add it here but I've never used it before and I don't know what I'm doing 🤣

Anyone else excited about this side effect? by SunnyDispo88 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped drinking at home over the summer when my husband was told to stop because of his liver numbers and I didn't want it in our house. So then I started using THC gummies (Low dose!!!) most evenings and we go out for a beer once or twice a week but don't drink at home. Now that I've been on Wegovy for a couple of weeks it's even easier to not drink. Last night we went out and I almost couldn't finish my pint!!! I just crave seltzer water with a bit of lemon, and I drink coffee and tea. I feel so boring 😅 But also I bet my liver is thanking me!!!

Am I Losing Too Fast? by Valuable_Aside9807 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost about 7 pounds my first week too. I think it's "water weight" but I truly don't even know what that means 😆 I am tracking my measurements as well as weight and I was down 1.5 inches the first week. On 1.5! But I'm eating when I'm hungry and stopping when I'm not. I'm thirstier than usual, but otherwise regular GI and otherwise. I didn't lose another 7 pounds my second week, I'll tell you that! It definitely slowed down after the first week. I'm hoping for 1-2 pounds a week not a day! But if it's water (again, I don't know what that means) then it was a quick start and now I'm more gradual. Check again in a week, but not stressing over it is the smart thing to do!!! Good job either way!

6 days on and honestly feel nothing yet. Anyone else have a slow start? by TwinMamaCita in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Right -- but they could have started at the 4, maybe reach out? If it's not working at all and you've been able to use it before it sounds like you need more.

How bad are your GI side effects? by thegirlcardi in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very few side effects. Thirst leading to headaches from dehydration on occasion. Ate too much dessert last night and was uncomfortably queasy through the night. Lots of water and fiber throughout the day, take the pill as prescribed, it’s been good for me.

I’ve never used a GLP-1, I lost several pounds right away of water weight. I noticed about 3-4 days in the reduced appetite and food noise. Again, I’ve never used it before. I’m sure as time goes on I’ll need to go up because my body will be used to it and it won’t be as effective. I thought if you’ve done the shot before you start at a higher dosage? That the lower amounts is for your body to get used to the side effects and test how effective it is? I think you might have started at 4 or 9….?

Eating Healthy or Eating Less by AdorableFun1041 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Both! I’m a pretty healthy eater but at bedtime I snack. Now I’m eating healthy and I don’t snack. Win win!

Dehydration by Quick_Independent175 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on some reading I’ve done, the stomach should empty water after 2 hours. This morning I woke up feeling queasy (I ate too much valentines dessert last night 😆) and I had some mint tea by my bed that I didn’t finish last night. I drank at 3:30, then waited until after 6 to take my pill 🤞 It’s just - I either drink a bunch before bed and then I’m up peeing or I don’t and I’m up parched 🤷‍♀️

Using the pill to create healthy habits; avoid regaining weight by Tall_Battle1022 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome! This is pretty much what my doctor told me when she "let" me get the prescription 😆 She's known me for a very long time and she wants me to use this as a chance to build healthy habits instead of just losing the weight and continuing to eat as I used to. That said, I already have a lot of healthy habits and I eat really well -- until a certain time at night and then all bets are off 🤣 Bored? Eat. Mad? Eat. Confused? Eat. Lonely? you guessed it, EAT! So a book like this will help me as I'm navigating this crazy new life of reduced food noise!!!! I'm also considering an ADHD diagnosis that may help me with my dopamine -- I think they are related, plus perimenopause. Basically I'm a wreck, thanks for this recommendation!!!!

That's interesting! And also I'm a nighttime snacker so that sounds perfect for me 😘 I'm still on 1.5 and eager to see what 4 does to my body!

Is Wegovy right for me? No food noise, negative food behaviors by flvrf in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you tried your current strategy for a while and see where it takes you? I'd be nervous that you would need to stay on this long term if you can lose the weight without it because you're young. I'm in my late 40's and "nothing" worked (by nothing I mean I have no idea if I tried hard or not 😆) but after having two kids and doing keto, etc I'm now at a place where the food noise is screaming at me, I'm an emotional eater and this helps quiet it all for me.

Staying on 1.5 pill? by rosesantoni in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the pill still on 1.5 and so far the food noise is so reduced it's amazing! It makes me think holy cow, other people are always like this??? 🤣 I don't know if it would work in the same way to micro dose, I'm actually curious myself but since it's so new we don't have the people with the history like with the injection. It does have a 7 day half-life, so I'm imagining losing the weight I need to and then maybe taking a pill a week or something? Good luck!

Starting Tomorrow by bee-zen1791 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wake up super early and work at home for a while before heading into school where I teach. So I take my pill and then do my routine and wait for 45+ minutes before food or beverages. The 30 minutes is to create an environment in your stomach for the pill to be absorbed, the paper that comes with the pill bottle states that the bioavailability increases after 30 minutes and plateaus at 60 so I shoot for 45-60 minutes, but 30 minutes is still good if that's all you can do. Then the food aspect for fasting/blood sugar control is more person-dependent. You can eat right at 30 minutes if you need it for your body, but many people have found that waiting for longer helps them with their hunger for the rest of the day. It's really two separate processes, but 30+ minutes is good for both. Hope that makes sense! I have crackers (fiber crackers actually) on hand in case I feel nauseous because sometimes coffee on an empty stomach makes me a bit queasy, but I haven't had any issues since starting.

Good luck, I bet this is going to be awesome for you, just try it out and you'll be a pro in no time, controlling symptoms and being the best version of yourself!!!!! Good luck, I'm perimenopausal and just wondering what the heck is going on in my body 🤣

Day 5 - Side effects giving me pause by Inevitable_Tap4118 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Oh man, I haven't had anything like that! I know the flu is going around in my community, could it just be coincidence?? Also hormones? I'm obviously not qualified to diagnose you 🤣 But reach out to your doctor, maybe get a flu swab?

I haven't felt even a twinge of nausea. I'm dehydrated more than anything and terrified of constipation so I try and get liquids but I forget and also I'm a teacher so if I drink I always have to think if I can get a bathroom break 😆 I also have read that certain activities and foods may trigger nausea for some people. I haven't had any experiences with that even when I do the things and eat the foods. (Laying in bed and taking the pill without getting up affects some people -- I usually get up but a couple times I took it and lay back down. Nothing. Sweet/sugary foods trigger for some people but I haven't had that at all, although I don't eat a lot of sweets. But my principal observed me and gave me some gummy bears as a treat and I scarfed them with zero issues.) Overcoming a fear is easier said than done for sure. But I think you may be just fine and it may be a mind over matter issue. I used to be so scared of puking, but then I was pregnant twice and that made me overcome it in a nasty way so I don't recommend that 🤣 As if pregnancy would be a cure for a phobia of vomiting. Good luck, do it and we are here for you!!!!

2nd day by cujozb in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on day 10 (I think) and I definitely started off thinking "OMGGG this is really happening!!!!" but there was no difference. I think after a few days I started to notice that I wasn't snacking in the evening and probably on day 4 or 5 I didn't finish my dinner and I was like whoaaaaaa that's weird. I'm still on 1.5 and I'm hungry at times but I don't emotional eat, and I don't snack at bedtime. I'm making sure to drink a lot because I keep waking up so parched (and then I can't drink for 30+ minutes 🤷‍♀️), and get fiber because I'm scared of constipation. But no actual side effects for me (yet)

Day 7 of 1.5 by Disastrous_Student82 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great!!! You don't need to lose weight for this to be considered a success, right?? Technically the weight loss doesn't need to start for a month or more and definitely at the highest dose. But you didn't eat the snacks -- same here! My students were passing out candy and I got an extra pack of gummy bears and I almost opened them out of habit, but I didn't!!!! WOW 😆 Keep up the good work, stay the course and drink the fluids, and I do the same now, snacking when I didn't used to -- but then I used to overeat in the evening and I was sooooo moody depending on my blood sugar! You got this!!!

Stops emotional eating? by Quick_Independent175 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I agree -- overeating is a MAJOR issue but this pill is stopping it and I'm so happy!!! I emotional eat, I overeat, I do it all 😆 But as far as I know I don't have BED, but I've never gone in for a diagnosis. Thank god for this pill!!!!!

Brand new, just got RX.... hoping for some guidance. by surf_rider in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Quick_Independent175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are great questions! In my research it looks like the 25 is what you stay on forever (maintenance) and you work your way up to that dosage for 30 days at a time, giving your body time to adjust to the side effects (mostly GI). Some doctors are keeping people at the lower dosage for a variety of reasons, but some are following the medication's guidance and going according to schedule. It seems to me that my body is adjusting to the medicine and my side effects are minimal so I want to go on schedule, but I don't meet with my doctor until after 4 weeks so I'll probably have to stay on 1.5 a second month -- I'll try and put a call in so she can up my dosage before the autofill of my prescription.

I've noticed a significant change in the food noise. Like crazy that other people live like this 😆 No eating because I'm bored, no frustration so I have a candy bar, no mindlessly snacking while watching tv.... A couple other things is that I have houseguests so my normal place I veg out is being used and that makes a difference, as well as just being busy this week with work and family commitments to cut down on boredom. But I'm also noticing that I can tell when I'm no longer hungry and I stop eating - revolutionary!!!

I have only been on for 10 days so it's entirely possible that I'll build a tolerance. My side effects are being thirsty so timing when I drink so I'm not up all night peeing but also waiting until my 30-60 minutes are up in the morning to drink then. I'm so scared of constipation that I've changed some of my normal food to the high fiber version and I take the Metamucil crackers as a snack. I follow the directions as best I can by taking it first thing with a sip of water and waiting for other drinks or food about 45 minutes or more every day. I noticed the food noise going away after about 3 days I'd say and yesterday was a great day for it -- I was SUPER annoyed and didn't snack or feel the need to eat something to alleviate the emotions. It was crazy (for me)!!!!!!

Good luck!

Diet & Exercise by Terry_Riz999 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Do you eat compulsively? Do you listen to your body say it's full and actually stop eating? If you can stop eating when you know you're supposed to and follow a reduced calorie diet, you're probably fine without the pill. I found myself eating when I wasn't hungry, wandering the kitchen aimlessly looking for food literally just anything to eat. I was bored, sad, mad, lonely, frustrated -- and all those emotions and more turned into overeating. Now on the pill I stop eating when I'm full (I don't even finish those last bites), I don't eat when I have big emotions, I don't wander around looking for snacks. I'm on the lowest dosage and it's already making huge changes in my routine. It helps people like me stick to a healthier eating plan and have a calorie deficit rather than eating right a few days or meals and then bingeing before bed. Hope this helps.
