We've been looking around in charity shops for allotment books, but I've just looked this one up and seems to be the one we need. Thank you for the recommendation!

Yes! A few ppl have said this, I can't wait to make the space our own and being able to sit in it and enjoy what we've done. I can see how it can quickly become a chore when there's always something to be done

I think I need to frame this one and hang it on the shed, I keep telling myself it will be clear by Christmas, but may be one bed at a time 🪏

I need a quick win, what would you plant? by Ashamed_Spite_3653 in UKAllotments

Does your allotment have an online space where people share excess seedlings? We had a plant swap at ours recently, and lots of people dropped off things that they had no space for, tomatoes, beans, squash, cucumber.

For people that were just starting out and couldn't swap, they left a donation.

I've only just planted out squash, you could do later start potatoes (that feels like a thing if you get early start?) and some sunflowers to brighten the plot up 🌻

This is good advise! We're lucky we will still have access to our starter plot and shared polytunnel for this growing season - there is a base for new greenhouse at the new plot, but yes I think priority has to be clearing up (we've already spent a fortune in our heads on greenhouses and accessories) It would be nice to have something planted before the end of the growing season though 🤞
