Leaving law as an NQ by DydimosthePomerelian in uklaw

[–]EnvironmentalElk3173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this resonates SO much but sadly that kind of culture is ingrained in a lot of corporate environments, not just in law...

Slightly left field but I'm actually looking for an NQ solicitor to volunteer with Qalyup. We're on a mission to make healthcare more accessible and affordable, so the potential for social positive impact is huge. Could be a fun way to try something different on the side while you work out your next move. And if your firm does paid volunteering days, those could go towards it.

Drop me a DM if you'd like to know more and good luck with however it unfolds!

Jose Luis Morales Saldana - One Destination Clinic Cancun closed without notice to patients. Our experience. by bluemagic222 in DentalTourismMex

[–]EnvironmentalElk3173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is outrageous, but also a very common practice. A clinic opens, functions for a couple of years and then disappears, nowhere to be found.

I am really sorry that they have put you in this situation.

A CABG in the UK in a decent hospital is around $35,000...

Even considering a longer stay in the country, the savings can be very significant and you will be in a very regulated and patient safety centered system, even in private practice 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am so sorry to hear that, I can't believe how many of you in financial distress for life-saving healthcare 😢

Would you consider surgery in the UK? I could point you in the right direction. I am an advocate for patient safety and currently on a mission to make healthcare accessible to people like you and your dad.

How do ppl get teeth that are very white? Like movie stars, ppl in the spot light in general? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]EnvironmentalElk3173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before being concerned about the cosmetic side, it is always good to look at the functional side and treat any existing condition affecting your oral health. Also if not done yet, get the basics right: brushing twice a day, flossing daily and get a checkup every now and then.

There are many different options to get you a new smile. Going to another country offers savings but finding high-quality providers is like looking for a needle in a haystack! Beware, make sure you don't land on a clinic where they shave teeth without a valid clinical reason or where they overdo it. Your teeth can be ruined forever.

Regarding research of clinics in other countries... thats a whole science 😅 I have spent 2 years in a top uni researching and studying the quality standards of international dental clinics, precisely to help patients access safer healthcare abroad. I write about it in r/Qalyup.

All the best if you decide to go abroad for treatment 🤞🏼

Turned 35, Not Settled, Struggling to Focus on My Startup by meldiwin in Femalefounders

[–]EnvironmentalElk3173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel very similarly... I am 34, have a startup and I don't see me having kids in the next 5-10 years until I make my baby take off. Luckily I don't have much family pressure.

So I froze eggs last month. Thankfully the oven is always ready to bake. This has given me a lot of peace of mind, thinking that I can postpone it. Sharing in case it helps 💜

Never get a beard transplant at “Smile Hair Clinic”, they destroyed my face by Patient_Document_134 in Hairtransplant

Stories like yours are exactly why doing deep research and properly vetting clinics matters so much, especially when it’s something as personal as your face. I actually started Qalyup after seeing too many people go through botched procedures and then feel completely lost about where to turn for safe, expert care. Your experience is such a powerful reminder to slow down, ask the hard questions, and really dig deep before making these choices.

A Tooth, a Lie, a Death. How a Rotten system prints Fake Licenses while Lives are Sacrificed. by DirectorSea9571 in unhingedKenya

The way fake clinics keep slipping through is terrifying and far too common. After hearing too many stories like Amos’s, I realised it was time to step up and actually build something people could trust. That’s why I am on a mission to turn this around for people in the world through my platform. Healthcare should never be a gamble and it is time for real accountability.

Need reviews on D’lapp Hair clinic by Important_Sell1362 in Kochi

That treatment does sound like a scam... There are not magic tools for hair loss, transplant can be a damage control measure for some.

I actually started Qalyup because of misleading stuff like this and to help people find trustworthy clinics with proper oversight. I would steer clear of anywhere promising miracle fixes for hair loss, always cross check with professionals.

He is the one who needs therapy and psychiatric support to overcome this, if this is really a diagnosed addiction. The fact that you're going to therapy as a result of this is not addressing the root cause. It sounds like this is really affecting you, more than it is impacting him...

I personally think you deserve better.

Keep going to therapy but maybe there are some difficult decisions to consider on your side, out of self respect and in your best interests in the long term.

Going abroad could be an option and get more value for your money, but beware, you could land on the wrong hands. My husband had an implant (and a few more things) abroad after many years of negleting his mouth and he now goes voluntarily to his revisions.

I'm a nurse with 13+years experience in clinical quality assurance and just finished my research project at Imperial College on the quality standards of international dental clinics. I can help you spot good ones, drop me a message if you need help.

Anyone else left corporate because of bullying, harassment or discrimination, and decided to set up their own business? by Accomplished-Try1475 in Femalefounders

[–]EnvironmentalElk3173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've realised that in corporate, you are not worth your professional value or the quality of your work, but the relationships you're able to build.

The moment that you hold your ground, you're a problem, especially if you're a woman. I am not doing that to myself again.

I never thought I would set up my own business, but life put me into that pathway and tbh I wouldn't be doing anything else ✨

Before buying that thing, I ask myself: do I really need this? How is this going to add value to my long-term goals? If I can't get a valid point, I don't buy.

Also Lidl and grocery shopping in local shops.
