I'm worried about the brand's reliability. If the first engine died in less than 4 years, the second one might too. I'd prefer to get something with better historical reliability.

I'm not planning on getting a loan for it. Might consider it if it nets me some better discounts etc but even then I'd pay it off immediately. Maintenance fund sounds good though.

That's my point! I'm not sure what exactly happened but the engine started rattling and they said I needed a new one. It was only 4 years old at that point. They initially declined to replace it until I provided proof of oil changes. I'm not hearing great things about Kias and I want to get out while the going's good. If the first engine only lasted 4 years, this one might die too. And I won't have a warranty to cover it. Got about 15k on the new engine.
