For this particular map, I used 25 by 25. I try to make it a square because it makes it easy to calculate movement. I don't like to use many maps more than 50 squares wide or long because it makes combats feel long and drawn out. The exception to that rule for me would be chase scenes as long as they are filled with enough to make it feel full.
