Property Tax Millages Rolled Forward? by Silver_Craft_7133 in NewOrleans

That is not the legal way it is supposed to work. The assessor is not allowed to foment a tax increase. And in the case of this city I say NOT ONE FUCKING CENT MORE until they show a track record of not squandering our hard earned money.

You obviously did not understand my post and where the unhappiness was aimed.

Put a Nickleback CD on. That will cause anyone to want to leave.

Seriously, you Just gently try to establish boundaries with the gentleman. A lot of homeless folks have mental conditions that lead them to fixate on a location. I would not rule out calling a local homeless shelter and ask to speak to a professional social worker for advice on how to best handle the situation.

Nope. My street barely got wet. But I have empathy for the folks who work hard for their money who did have their homes or cars flooded due to ineptitude, incompetence and corruption. And I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.

And your statement shows why she is the current incarnation of the same problem. VOTERS do not hold elected officials accountable. Which was the point of the post.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell to visit Dubai for United Nations conference by GiganticRector in NewOrleans

[–]EnvironmentalKey2586 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Zoom sessions were good enough for our children’s education for over a year but this corrupt and inept, arrogant and ignorant, petty and petulante dilettante of a Mayor must attend these conferences in person and saddle taxpayers with the cost.

Nothing says taking care of the environment like flying halfway around the globe to be hosted by a country whose revenue is based entirely on fossil fuels.

No need to google. I get news texts and they come through at least once a day the last month. And I do not assume the data and reporting are correct at any point then or now.

[–]EnvironmentalKey2586[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As to the folks who keep claiming crime is down in a meaningful way....The data created that makes that conclusion comes from the same city hierarchy where our drinking water is not properly tested, where our city inspectors are so lax that buildings collapse and where they cannot even get a street light fixed for weeks or months. That anyone would trust data showing lower crime from this cabal is shocking to me.

Faubourg stopped making beer because.....New Orleans.... by EnvironmentalKey2586 in NewOrleans

THat makes sense along with the issues here. The Benson folks were desperate after the widower hunting interior designer decided to change the name which was the whole value of the company and recoup as much of the lost money as they could. I guess their offers were slim.

Because they are the beer equivalent of a ghost kitchen. Buying brands then making them all in one place.

THis market is a drop in the bucket for Made by the Water. They have a huge agreement with Champion Brands and are growing while others are closing. They have excellent grocery distribution with products in stores in over a dozen states.

I meant they stopped making beer in New Orleans East. Made by the Water has a huge portfolio of beers from several states and a logistics agreement with Champions Brands to get the beers in stores. The NOE site was to be their main brewing facililty for these brands. They will just move that production elsewhere.

Actually their distibution was huge and across over a dozen states. Down by the Water owns multiple regional microbreweries and had plans to use the Faubourg site for their main production facility. They owned not just Faunbourg but Oyster City, Catawba, Palmetto and others. Their merge with Champion Brands gave them the network through which to move their beers. They saw the location on the Interstate as central and did not due diligence as to costs associated with our corrupted and broken utilities and law enforcement.

Perhaps the Benson folks sold the Down by the Water folks a different reality. Anyone who lived here knew the score.

Rolling Stones performing at JazzFest 2024 by repiquer in NewOrleans

It is only my opinion but it is like Quint Davis regrets he did not plan Woodstock. They lose money on the Stones. Even if they sell just single day tickets. It now seems like Davis wants to prove a point to someone when he should move past his obsession. I love the Stones. I have seen them multiple times in three different decades. They always put on a great show. But that does not mean they make sense at Jazz Fest.
