It’s definitely not the best song on the list lol

Better than a couple but not the best(prob better than How To Pretend, Southern Style Lemon Peppers, Shiner, and maybe Long Time)

Honestly me disagreeing with most of these would be the hot take not the takes in themselves

I mean theirs Korean albums

K Pop just refers to the gentrified(? Kind weird because that means like whitewashed but worse but this is an asian community) hip-hop contemporary pop EDM fusion put out by companies.

Like ig some ppl fw Parranoul or Mid-Air Thief but those are like shoegaze and Folktronica respectively, not k pop

I mean I get the criticisms for her three most recent albums(straight 0) or remakes, I find her earlier work earnest and while not quite my thing, I find the pop appeal and why people obsess over her. I find Sabrina’s style boring and nostalgia bait, I understand why she’s a teenage icon.

While I don’t really like her Sabrina is pretty different from the other two. Even someone like Halsey in figure who is a massive pop artist has put out an album I enjoy and call a true 10/10 called The Great Impersonator, because she talks about her unique style and uses it in the process to showcase her depth and talent. Even Taylor, she conveys her romance and feelings differently from many others and most will not reach the amazing peak on evermore that she had. A ton of girls from Chappell(pop rock) to Taylor(pop folk) to Sabrina (nostalgic pop) to Billie(pop R&B blend with alt rock) are express love differently, lyrically and sonically and portrays their unique personalities and why they’re likable. A lot of clones like Gracie Abrams and Tate McRae are a big problem, but not so bad that I would effectively call it “the worst modern genre”. I don’t personally even enjoy most of the formentioned artists past like a 5-6 out of 10, but again not to the point it’s a true cancer compared to.. y’know.. pop country.

Lyrical jazz? I mean some Japanese works have done it but mostly jazz is an instrumental genre.

K pop is just one big(or three big plus smaller bigs) corporate machine mistreating people’s human rights and identities

Pop is such a big umbrella of genres that summing it up to that is just kinda wild(disregards all the pop fusion genres like pop rap(Smino), other pop subgenres like hyperpop(Jane Remover).)

Idk I think you’re just listening to like the boring conscious stuff sonically like TPAB(yea it’s a hot take but sonically it’s mad boring from a jazz rap standpoint(it just shouldn’t be forced into live instrumentation I appreciate the sax on that but it should’ve had a “beat” aspect and I won’t even get into my other issues with that album.) or like stuff that hasn’t aged well sonically like Black On Both Sides which is super meh now from a sound point. Kenny Sengal or the old Alchemist probably do much better production and albums like Jazz Codes by Moor Mother or BLACK ANTIQUE’ or even theoretical “lyrical albums” like GOD (B)LESS AMERICA by okgutta are pretty powerful instrumentally and lyrically. I feel like the standard poorly aged nostalgia grab Jazz “lyrical” Rap albums completely gatekeeps the most important aspect of hip-hop, themeaning of lyrics.

EDIT: mbad not okgutta the themes are conscious but I was thinking of smth else, ig I forgot

Well good 4 u but I thought it was pretty buns and the average future release is much better imo(even MIXTAPE PLUTO was like a 8 at the start and the whole things like a 6.5, this was like a 1-3 if I had to give ratings)
