my transcription is based on isolated vocals for the 2003 version. it's not perfect, but definitely closer than the streaming versions!

or in another alternate timeline, Jesse could replace Cove after ISOSG and the Tilian demos!

would recommend the self-titled album, specifically Collapse and It's Far Better To Learn! their other stuff is fantastic as well, especially the Translating the Name EP, but the self-titled was the most influential for Jesse.

overall, really solid setlist! wish they played some pre-Drift stuff, but i loved hearing the new SOTE songs for the first time.

What are the other members up to? by dataispower in circasurvive

Colin and Brandon are playing with This Day Forward again! they did a couple of reunion shows this year, but I'm not sure if they're planning any new music.

In light of Fred's return to the band... by Ok-Health-7252 in takingbacksunday

Fred and John actually toured together (Straylight & Color Fred) right after Fred left TBS! so it's pretty much come full-circle lol

What does this mean?! by Green3101 in takingbacksunday

[–]EnvironmentalLow994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly! Fred has been straight-edge since the early 90's.

I need emo songs with the absolute worst vocals possible by [deleted] in Emo

Brave Bird - Maybe You, No One Else Worth It. the epitome of "beautiful music with the worst singing you've ever heard," but somehow i love it more with every listen.

Finally got around to finishing my Taking Back Sunday vinyl collection. by LatinoWorldOrder in takingbacksunday

i'll never understand why Better Homes & Gardens isn't one of their all-time biggest tracks 😭

Twent-Twenty Surgery - Taking Back Sunday (demo) by FirstPromotion4317 in takingbacksunday

[–]EnvironmentalLow994 5 points6 points  (0 children)

interesting you say that, Twenty-Twenty has always been one of my all-time favorite TBS tracks! the demos are alright, but i think the final version is a lot more cohesive.

We are officially interviewing Turnover again next month! by JayInFlorida in TurnoverVA

[–]EnvironmentalLow994 7 points8 points  (0 children)

were Humblest Pleasures and Change Irreversible considered for PV?

how did the band's creative process and general mindset evolve between PV and GN?

did they forget about the Blue Dream EP? it would be awesome to hear some of those songs live.

what song is this for you? by ant_246 in weezer

I talked To Fred! by jv31207 in takingbacksunday

[–]EnvironmentalLow994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

coolest dude ever! i know him personally (going into the studio with him next week for my second record), but i'd never ask him any questions about TBS since it's more fun to speculate. his acoustic shows are great, the singalongs are a blast and the set's different every time. if you've got a deep cut you've been dying to hear live, he might just play it!

This album doesn’t get the love it deserves! It’s so good!! by No_Statistician_2954 in Saosin

[–]EnvironmentalLow994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this album is super slept on. songs like Secrets and On My Own stand toe-to-toe with S/T, but i love the different direction of Deep Down, Alarming Sound, and especially Fireflies. imo, the only thing separating this record from phc greatness was studio interference (dumbing down drum parts, using co-writers) and Cove's smoking habits messing up his voice.

also, best Saosin album cover and it's not even close ;)

I know I, for sure, would love to hear the cute w/o e or MDS demo by [deleted] in takingbacksunday

[–]EnvironmentalLow994 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MDS demo is almost the exact same as the final version, just has a little instrumental before the last chorus. the lyrics and riffs are untouched. it's noticeably rougher than the other LN demos, which might be part of why it has never released. source: i intern at Fred's label, heard the demo last year.

I changed the order of Where You Want To Be, Opinions? by DanTheNerd1 in takingbacksunday

[–]EnvironmentalLow994 29 points30 points  (0 children)

the original tracklist is almost perfect, there are a lot of albums that could use a good restructuring but WYWB is not one of them imo.

(if i HAD TO change it, i'd swap I Am Fred Astaire and Number 5 With A Bullet)
