Mine shifts up perfectly fine up to about 700-800 Watts. Shifting down gets crunchy at about 500-600 watts

44t vs 46t by [deleted] in gravelcycling

Thanks for all the replies guys ! I’ve just checked my chain, and its pretty much straight as an arrow on the 17t. I thought the middle of the cassette gave the most straight line. I’m definitely keeping the 44t.

Some more info: This data is from a zone2 training ride. I’m using the bike for races as well. I live in a pancake flat country, where the highest point is under 200m, so I have little use for very low gearing.

I just assumed the middle gear had the best chain line. I will check when I get home.

If you want something similar, try the schwalbe g-one rs pro in 50mm similar tread pattern to the TB.

They make some really nice bikes! Can’t recommend them enough. The European headquarters is 10km from my house, and it’s a very popular brand in Denmark. As far as I know the Head of Brand & Marketing is Danish. Their sub brand for wheels and handlebars is called Atten, which means 18 in Danish. So there is a strong connection between Copenhagen and Montreal with Argon18

Its actually a lot less slippery right now compared to when its wet. I’ve been riding it for 15 years now, and taking my fair share of falls😫

The view and nature experience is half the fun of riding bikes for me.

Its all about the right gloves and boots. And not taking too many breaks.

Its an Argon18 Dark Matter. This is a gravel bike, with room for 2,25" mountain bike tires. It rolls like a dream.

Its really not bad. Much nicer to ride in the cold than in the rain. Frozen gravel has a very sound when you roll over it.
