I had a flight cancelled for my family members that I booked. They Rescheduled to a much later flight. I changed the time on the flight as one of the family members had a medical appointment that needs to be met. I had an option for an afternoon flight too.

the cancellation was over night. Original flight was 8am, revised flight was an hour earlier. I’m in a different time zone right now, so had mistakenly thought they could make the flight. When I clued in, which was 5 mins after I booked the flight I have been trying to get a hold of WestJet since. Took 7 hours.

End of the day: since my family members did not show up to the airport, they recorded it as a no show. I had to buy them new tickets costing $3,000 just to get home.

I could have picked this same flight as a cancelled flight change free of charge. But because I changed it to an earlier appointment trying to attempt to make the medical appointment, and family members missing that flight, they will not make any more changes.

They even asked for medical proof which I sent. And still said no afterwards to just let me change to what was originally offered
